Does anyone else *whisper* not like summer that much?

I love autumn and winter. I love being wrapped up in big sweaters, I love being cozy inside when it's cold and lashing down outside, I love Christmas, I love hot chocolates with marshmallows after a freezing walk with the dog.

I hate being too hot. I hate being sweaty. I hate not being able to sleep because I'm clammy. I hate having to get on with normal life when I'm bloody boiling and uncomfortable.

I'm sure this is highly controversial but aside from the odd barbecue which I enjoy, or a holiday abroad when it's hot which I don't mind as there is usually air con in the bedroom and I don't have to do anything I don't want to do and can just sit in cafes and drink cold beer, I wish summer would sod off.

We bought an air con unit last year and it's a bloody godsend but it's only for one room.

I was pregnant during that 2018 heatwave, first trimester with crippling nausea, and I basically lay in my pants on bed with a fan blasting at me for eight weeks, reading MN and playing games on my phone, interspersed with the odd bout of weeping.

I love it and hate it. I bloody hate the flies, and insects in the house, and while dry heat is fine I HATE humidity! I also live on a quiet little country lane in Cornwall and it gets swamped with tourists in the summer, who have no idea how to reverse. I hate that my poor dog gets so overheated and miserable and I hate everyone around me being on holiday and having a lovely time when I'm not!

Yanbu, its my least favourite season. I don't mind the warmth we're having now as it cools down at night and I can move around without sweating my tits off but any hotter then 20 ish and I dont like it

Good news! Down to 16 degrees tomorrow where I am and chilly all next week, yay!

I hate summer, except for the longer daylight hours. Can't stand heat, sun, insect bites, awful clothes, forced fun "you must be outside", bloody hay fever. I could go on and on. I hate having to work and go about normal life in hot, humid conditions.

I'm counting down to September already.
