Why are you up?

Not had any sleep here yet as DD has been very upset with a high temp (bastard teeth).

She's just dropped off next to me horizontally, taking up the whole bed.

Anyone else want to join the party?

I am enjoying my right to sleep when I'm meant to. Once you stop trying to be normal it feels fine.

ShrimpingViolet · 05/05/2020 01:59

It's bloody tough with little ones at the minute @arstyfarty. I called 111 about two and half hours ago as DD was burning up and it wasn't coming down with Calpol.

They had no out of hours docs for obvious reasons so told us to take her to A&E. Really didn't fancy that at the moment. Thankfully she's back down to normal temp so Calpol has done its job.

@WhyNotMe40 that sounds hard - are you able to have a break this weekend at all?

I'm in Pennsylvania, USA. We have lockdown, rules quite similar to the UK in this state. Some of the rules are going to start to be relaxed or removed starting from the 8th. I am finding it hard being home all the time, especially with a very sociable baby, but I am not looking forward to everyone rushing back out again and not taking it seriously. We have to wear masks in shops here and DH said it is as though because people are wearing masks they don't need to distance themselves too.

Sodding insomnia and a bust worrying brain. This lockdown has completely fucked up my already dodgy sleep pattern

MergeDragons · 05/05/2020 02:03

Nextdoor’s milkman woke me up :( not impressed. Bring back the quiet electric milkfloats!!!!

blessednotstressed · 05/05/2020 02:03

OH is snoring! It's like torture.

ShrimpingViolet · 05/05/2020 02:03

I would feel the same if I was you I think @NeverHadANickname. From here it feels like Trump has no clue when it comes to tackling all this.

OP posts:
ShrimpingViolet · 05/05/2020 02:06

@MergeDragons that is not fun. We had an enormous commercial bin lorry reverse up our road at 5am the other day, with the 'THIS VEHICLE IS REVERSING alarm going full blast.

WE FUCKING KNOW YOU ARE MATE, THANK YOU!

@blessednotstressed You might have to accidentally prod him Smile

Yes tutoring children is annoying WhyNot

user764329056 · 05/05/2020 02:07

Lockdown has definitely made insomnia worse, am so worried about money, brain won’t shut down and have constant crashing headache

theothersarenotme · 05/05/2020 02:08

We're not meant to wake up at 5 am and sleep at sundown

NeverHadANickname · 05/05/2020 02:09

I'm sorry 111 weren't much help but I'm glad her temperature came down.

Trump absolutely does not know what he is doing. Saying injecting bleach into yourself should be looked into then saying well I was only joking to see what you would all say, what an idiot. He refuses to stop doing the briefings though. Luckily the state governors can mainly decide for themselves what they want to do.

Zandra123 · 05/05/2020 02:09

Another awake but wish I wasn't person here, definitely worse since lockdown

OneHanded · 05/05/2020 02:10

Yes fellow hardened insomniacs! Stress is a trigger so I’ll be here until sunrise 😅 probably far beyond too...

ShrimpingViolet · 05/05/2020 02:11

It is truly crazy @NeverHadANickname. Glad you have some sensible leaders too though.

So many people suffering lockdown insomnia. It's going to be so hard to adjust back into normal life I think.

I do hope this will be the beginning of a more flexible way of life

Laslow · 05/05/2020 02:16

I'm working nighshift...roll on 7am!

arstyfarty · 05/05/2020 02:19

I just want to get to sleep😂 (she says whilst on her phone). My DS’s will be up at 5:30 ready for the day. I don’t have the energy to do it on now sleep.

RainbowMum11 · 05/05/2020 02:28

I have become more and more nocturnal over the past few weeks.
DD is with her Dad until lunchtime so I can sleep in I guess, but I was up this morning to work, then had 2 naps in between working and a nice bath. Now I'm still up.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 05/05/2020 02:32

Feeding my 4 week old baby. He most definitely has done trapped wind but falls asleep before can get it up. Lay him in his crib 20 min later we’re up because he’s upset if said trapped wind. Over shoulder to burp 2 min later asleep again. I think he just wants to snooze on mummy tonight!

NeverHadANickname · 05/05/2020 02:32

I'm going to make more of an effort to get to sleep 🤞 good luck everyone. Even if I do get to sleep it won't be all night so I might pop back on.

theothersarenotme · 05/05/2020 02:33

I'm having dinner.

Jupiters · 05/05/2020 02:48

This is my first day off after night shifts...I think I'm still on night mode. And DH is snoring next to me.

funkylittleboatrace · 05/05/2020 02:51
