Who's tooth is this??

DS and DD decided to find 'treasure' in our garden today. It's a fairly old house, with a very established garden and we've been here less than two years. DS presented me with this. It's a bloody massive tooth. I can't even begin to imagine what it belonged to. Please talk me down from a CSI type scenario 😬

🤢 I don't know but I kinda want to 😁 you should go out there and have a little dig around!

ElectricTonight · 02/05/2020 21:26

Fox , just a guess!

AppleKatie · 02/05/2020 21:28

Fox or dog

ElectricTonight · 02/05/2020 21:31

Just googled fox teeth, looks nothing like it!

AuntieDolly · 02/05/2020 21:33

Do animals have large incisors?

Windyatthebeach · 02/05/2020 21:34

I'm going for human, surely the pointy bit is the root.

LockedInMadness · 02/05/2020 21:45

Oh god, the top bit does look human 😱

DobbyTheHouseElk · 02/05/2020 21:47

Horse?

EveryLifeHasASoundtrack · 02/05/2020 21:52

Stop digging unless you want a CSI type scenario. 😬 🦴

Why can I see an advert for dental implants halfway through this thread? 🤣

GeraltOfRivia · 02/05/2020 21:55

Did I someone once find a skull in their garden during a similar exercise and specialists had to come in? Don't remember that thread right or did I imagine it?

InkogKneeToe · 02/05/2020 22:00

Probably a deer incisor. Do you have photos from any other angles?

Butterbeaninjeans · 02/05/2020 22:04

Looks like a human tooth 😲

catlovingdoctor · 02/05/2020 22:06

From that aspect it does look quite like a human upper central incisor. Can we have some pictures from the other face or the side?

itswonkylampshade · 02/05/2020 22:07

Looks rather human to me, too Shock

Changingmyname1234 · 02/05/2020 22:12

I'd say human also

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 02/05/2020 22:19

I got the dental implants ad too. Grin

Who's tooth is this??
DottyWott · 02/05/2020 22:28

Can you measure it?
A human upper central incisor is on average 10.5mm from the tip of the crown to the gum line (where it changes colour and becomes the root). The root is usually 13mm BUT this root looks incomplete which could mean it’s a child’s incisor which hasn’t finished developing. Any history of a child losing a tooth in trampoline/pogo stick/skate board related incident in your garden?

Poppi89 · 02/05/2020 22:34

Do you have a picture of the top of it?
To see its a canine which has to be from a carnivore or more of a molar shape which could be from a horse or something

bobstersmum · 02/05/2020 22:40

It does look human but it is very big!

RogueV · 02/05/2020 22:43

Nice find op!
I say human

Wavingwhiledrowning · 02/05/2020 22:59

Oh lawks. I absolutely wanted everyone to say dog.
The whole thing is freaking me out.
I'm in bed now (sweet relief... 3 DCs under 5) but I promise to send more multi angle pics tomorrow. After which you will all definitely agree on dog. Or horse, at an absolute push.

I should clarify... 100% definitely not from a child. Its ridiculously big (bigger than any of my teeth) and with the whole root attached (yuk) it's not from an accident.
My SIL is a vet and says it's not a dog or a horse - just to provide scale (I deffo don't want a horse in the veg patch either, so that's something). I'm struggling to think of something in between!
