Who's tooth is this??

DS and DD decided to find 'treasure' in our garden today. It's a fairly old house, with a very established garden and we've been here less than two years. DS presented me with this. It's a bloody massive tooth. I can't even begin to imagine what it belonged to. Please talk me down from a CSI type scenario 😬

It's not a horse tooth. These are horse teeth.

Who's tooth is this??
Poppi89 · 02/05/2020 23:19

Sheep teeth are quite jagged I think so I don't think its that either. Definitely take some more photos tomorrow OP! I hope we get to the bottom of it.

Having read this thread earlier, and going off to google things (and having nothing better to do on a Saturday night) I concur with the pp who suggested it was a deer tooth.

mochajoe · 02/05/2020 23:25

It's Freddie Mercury's

The roots on deer teeth are curved and they don’t look curved. It does certainly look human from that angle but failing that I would say lamb or sheep?

Poppi89 · 02/05/2020 23:30

Freddie mercury Grin

Oh yes - do you live near a graveyard? Do you have to tell anyone if you bury someone on your land ( I know some people do bury family on land, obviously you wouldn't ask permission for murdering someone).

Teeth take years and years to decay so it could be from ages ago

ElectricTonight · 03/05/2020 09:11

I can't stop thinking about your veg patch OP ! I wouldn't be able to help myself I'd be digging some more and then totally freak out if I found more Grin

Wavingwhiledrowning · 03/05/2020 10:58

Hi everyone. As promised, here are some more pictures of The Tooth. It did occur to me in the early hours that maybe I didn't want it in the house in case something woo happened. It didn't though, so that's a relief.

Looks like a human mans incisor Confused

LockedInMadness · 03/05/2020 11:28

I still think it's human.

Get digging for more, op 😩

LockedInMadness · 03/05/2020 11:29

Mind you it does look a bit thick for a human, maybe.....

nymrgn · 03/05/2020 11:32

I think humans 🙄

Wavingwhiledrowning · 03/05/2020 11:33

Hmmm. I thought human too (which is why I asked). But why would it be so complete? Did someone randomly yank their tooth out whilst digging the carrots? And then just chucked it on the ground?? So many questions! It almost looks like it's got a veneer, but that would make it more recent, and I'm not that familiar with buried teeth in any case, so might just be normal.
I am torn between never wanting to grow any more veg ever again, and getting out there right now with a shovel!

Wavingwhiledrowning · 03/05/2020 11:35

It really is pretty big though. I can't imagine what a mouth full of those would look like... Pretty weird. It's bigger than DHs teeth (looks chunkier).

OP posts:
Seeingadistance · 03/05/2020 11:37

Definitely looks like a human incisor!

RyanBergarasTeeth · 03/05/2020 11:41

So weird deffo looks human but it would have to be from a giant!

DishRanAwayWithTheSpoon · 03/05/2020 11:44

It looks like an adult human central incisor. Its slightly hard to tell on size but looks about right to me.

The root tip is broken, so it might have got knocked out in a fight or accident. Sometimes whole teeth get knocked out.

Someone had gum disease and it could have fallen out

Or someone had it extracted and took it home and lost it in the garden.

Measure it and let us know the dimensions!

AvalancheKit · 03/05/2020 11:47

That’s the size of a human tooth. Probably extracted in the early Victorian times. Look in the same place for a long piece of cord and a door knob.

Poppi89 · 03/05/2020 11:51

I would say that looks like a human incisor! The front teeth

DishRanAwayWithTheSpoon · 03/05/2020 11:51

It might be deer but the root looks too short, and deer teeth are more curved

Poppi89 · 03/05/2020 11:52

Sorry wrote that before reading everyone elses replies

Wavingwhiledrowning · 03/05/2020 11:53
