What do you think happened to Baby after she left Kellermans?

Watching Dirty Dancing for the 1000th time, but probably the first time since I've had the DC and it's got me thinking.... what do you think happened after they went home?

Do you think she gave up her place at college to be with Jonny? She was happy and passionate about her future before she met him and it would be such a shame if she ditched it for a boy... even if he is Patrick Swayze!

How pissed off would you be as a parent if your kid did that?!

And yes, I am that bored that I'm spending my time thinking about this!

I hope either Jonny left to pursue a dancing career in NYC without her because she was too young, or she decided she didn’t want to ruin her future and went to college in the autumn.

I think she did go to college and it eventually fizzled out with Johnny.

I so wanted to go and stay at Kellermans when I was 16.

I think she went to college and Johnny moved with her and started his own dance school which was very successful. He had to give it up as her career progressed but he was fine with that as he discovered he really loved being a SAHD.

Nah she was far too smart to give up her future for a holiday fling. She most definitely continued with the plan and became a civil rights lawyer or a judge.

That was a summer romance only, she went off and realised all her ambitions because she'd learned to be courageous and not anxious to please everyone, from Jonny and his friends, but she had wonderful memories her whole life.

I think she went to college. I think the film isn't about Baby meeting the love of her life who she'll end up with. I think it's about a summer where she grew up, and had her first love affair, who she'll always remember fondly, and found out that the world is bigger and more complicated than she ever knew.

She carried on as planned, her and Johnny fizzled out. As a pp says, it’s not about the love of her life, it’s about her (completely ill advised!) first love.

I don’t think she dropped out of college but deferred for a year.

In that time, she realised she was being groomed so dumped Johnny, returned to her studies, and became a successful professional who was capable of forming emotionally stable relationships, thanks to years of therapy.

He convinced her they could do it long distance so she went to college, and it worked for a while but after his big break in NY they had so little time for each other and their lives were so different. They split up on good terms tho, catch up a few times a year. She went to his wedding, he came to the kids christening... Her hubby finds it weird as they're so opposite but he doesn't want to admit it

Yes, agree it's where she grows up and learns what is important to her - standing up for waht she believes in and what is right.

I think she is even more inspired to go to college and train so she can change the world. Was she planning to join the Peace Corps - sort of VSO type thing?

I think things with Jonny fizzle out but she always has a soft spot for ballroom dancing and later in life returns for a holiday at Kellermans and does some groovy moves on the ballroom dance floor which impress her very successful husband who is also in something like human rights.

It's a coming of age film, not a finding the love of your life film.

Johnny got arrested for inappropriate behaviour with underage girls in summer camp.

Baby stuck by him for the first 18months until she discovered his 'Second' laptop with the 'photos'

He later got regularly 'shanked' in prison by a man that looks like Shaquile O'Neil. Upon his release he moved to Vegas and started a Dolly Parton Tribute Drag Act.
He was found dead shortly after in a hotel room after a punter turned violent.

Baby returned home, left it all behind herself and is now an accountant for Amazon. She's in charge of making sure Amazon pays as little tax as possible.

I think she’d have been pregnant! If she’d stayed with him her parents would’ve been twitchy, despite pretending to forgive him at the end of the film.

She went to college, they tried the long distance thing, but it got complicated and through some misunderstanding she thought he was cheating on her and dumps him.

15 years later she’s a successful civil rights lawyering New York, but has dedicated everything to her work instead of her social life and looking to shake things up a bit she’s persuaded by her friend at work to join a dance class....

Her and Jonny split up and they went separate ways. Baby went to college, married and had her own career as a politician.

Jonny never married and continues his dancing career with his partner ( the one who was pregnant and whose name I can't remember)

I think Jonny finally got together with Penny.

Her relationship with Jonny allowed her to mature and to decide her own life rather than the life her parents would have chosen for her.

I think it was a summer fling. They weren’t suited long term. But I wonder f after many years they’d accidentally bump into each other when both older and wiser and re visit the past

She became Judge Judy 😄

I used to think they were together forever.
But in reality they were too different, so i think she went off to college and he just stayed where he was.

I think she had a nose job that rendered her completely unrecognisable!
