What do you think happened to Baby after she left Kellermans?

Watching Dirty Dancing for the 1000th time, but probably the first time since I've had the DC and it's got me thinking.... what do you think happened after they went home?

Do you think she gave up her place at college to be with Jonny? She was happy and passionate about her future before she met him and it would be such a shame if she ditched it for a boy... even if he is Patrick Swayze!

How pissed off would you be as a parent if your kid did that?!

And yes, I am that bored that I'm spending my time thinking about this! Grin

@AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter yours is my favourite. Love it!

I don’t think they ended up together. I think it would of been an I love you but we are different and need/want our lives to go in different ways Kind of situation. Right person wrong time all that

I think the good thing to come out of it was her father would of stopped seeing her as a baby, and instead saw she was a woman.

Haven’t read the whole thread as o didn’t want to be influenced Grin.

I think Baby went off to college telling herself she and Johnny would be a forever thing, but within the first term it fizzled out. She becomes a human rights lawyer and eventually meets a guy more like her, but forever has fond memories of her inappropriately older gorgeous first love.

Johnny and Penny realise they’re are meant to be together, set up a dance school together and eventually have a little girl they call Frances.

(Lisa marries rich but ends up an unhappy alcoholic, sadly).

The End.

I like to think Baby became a human rights lawyer, perhaps a significant figure involved in legalising abortion in the US. She marries a successful, decent man and has children. Johnny stays a happy memory.

I think she left her mark on him, too. I think he probably sets up his own dance school/theatre with a bit more self respect and ambition. I can see him naming a daughter Frances, but his wife, whoever she is, doesn’t know why.

Danny and Sandy did the happily ever after thing, though!

Merlotmum85 · 02/05/2020 14:25

Johnny would have continued much the same, maybe opening up his own dance school in a few years. Baby goes to uni, meets that lawyer or doctor that her dad always wanted her to find and gets married. I think Penny gets out and manages to make something of her life, she's got enough grit and determination to make it happen. Neil and Lisa get married but live separate lives.

They definitely didn't stay together. When he gets the sack and has to leave she doesn't in any way insist on going with him. He just says 'ill never be sorry' and she says 'neither will i' and laugh about how they 'sure surprised everyone' but there are definitely no declarations of love.

He definitely drifted through the rest of his life and ended up with an alcohol problem.

I think she went to college and he went back to what was his normal. I don't think they kept in contact or ever saw each other again, but always looked back at it as a perfect summer fling

Heatherjayne1972 · 02/05/2020 20:12

It was a holiday fling.- there was never a hint of them meeting up again
He probably ended up a drunk doing bitty jobs and never amounting to much
However baby married a doctor / lawyer/ etc and having a professional job until she had babies. Then was a rich stay at home mum
