What was the last meal out you had before lockdown?

Mine was a spur of the moment trip to Five Guys with DS8, not long before they announced it. I had a burger with everything, and fries.

DH and I had been talking about going out for a nice meal for ages and finally booked it... For the weekend right after lockdown started 😭

I actually can’t think. Maybe lunch with DS in itsu. I had a lovely night out late February with my husband which we don’t do often. Theatre and then amazing Turkish food. I’d like to do that again soon

Really had to think then...it might have been afternoon tea at a hotel, or jasmine rice, tofu and salads/pickles at an Asian street food place.

Can't remember.

We went to china town a few weeks before lockdown. They said they were 80% down on business. We went because DS has autism and doesnt like crowds and its normally very busy. It was delicious

YgritteSnow · 30/04/2020 20:24

Five Guys - veggie sandwich with cheese, and large fries. Might have another one tomorrow actually, with Deliveroo since they are now open again.

TriangleBingoBongo · 30/04/2020 20:25

I can’t remember which is really depressing!

CandyLeBonBon · 30/04/2020 20:30

Fillet steak. Now I'm dribbling

OxanaVorontsova · 30/04/2020 20:33

Local pub the weekend before everything shut, spur of the moment date night, it was a lovely meal, we went to support them (only open a year) whilst we still could

aerosocks · 30/04/2020 20:35

It was so long ago I can't remember.

DameXanaduBramble · 30/04/2020 20:41

Le Gavroche for a birthday dinner.

PeonyTruffle · 30/04/2020 20:43

Slim Chickens, my DS absolutely loves it and its where he wants to go when we go back to normal (I'm happy with this plan!)

SillyYak · 30/04/2020 20:52

Fancy breakfast by myself at Caravan on Exmouth market. Lush!

MontanaSky · 30/04/2020 20:56

A lovely curry night in the city of London a week before lockdown with a great friend

happypotamus · 30/04/2020 21:10

About 2 weeks before, DC went to stay with my parents for the weekend and DH and I went to yo sushi. I'm glad we did, because it was a tiny restaurant open-plan in the middle of a shopping centre where no one was more than 2m away from other people and I don't see how they could reopen it in the foreseeable future

DrMadelineMaxwell · 30/04/2020 22:08

Sadly, Macdonalds, because they announced they were going to close and the kids hadn't had it for a long time.

We've since had a rather delicious takeaway, but it's not the same as going out with friends for a leisurely dinner.

My friends' birthdays have passed without our usual celebrations.
And my sister still owes me my birthday afternoon tea gift (without kids!)

Vinorosso74 · 30/04/2020 22:11

Wagamamas just over a week before lockdown. I am now craving yasai katsu curry.

homemadecommunistrussia · 30/04/2020 22:12

Disappointing Wetherspoons with colleagues a week or so before 23rd. I enjoyed it even so the food wasn't great and miss them, we are a mismatched bunch, but quite close.Smile

Frosty26827 · 30/04/2020 22:15

Three Brothers burger in Bristol ..... it was lovely.

FlamingoAndJohn · 30/04/2020 22:16

Lovely local cafe where we usually go for breakfast. I had the falafel open sandwich.
I dream of having it again. I only hope they can make it.

Shockers · 30/04/2020 22:16

I had a lovely late Sunday lunch with DH at a nice pub, the weekend before lockdown.

Thirtyrock39 · 30/04/2020 22:17

Local pub with kids and another family we are good friends with. It was the nicest fish and chips I've ever had and i remember saying that at the time - I must have subconsciously know it would be the last meal out for a while / and we were still laughing at the kids being convinced schools were about to close- this was a week and a half before Boris announced they would- still crazy to think how quickly everything changed

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 30/04/2020 22:20

An amazing meal in a local Nepalese restaurant and now I crave fried buffalo momos Grin

MissHoskins · 30/04/2020 22:34

Steak pie with mash, gravy and peas at the Hilton hotel Bristol airport. I flew here, to Portugal the next day. March 11th. I'm here for the duration so can't see that happening again any time soon.

TheClitterati · 30/04/2020 23:08

You know I can't even remember. I did take the girls to McDonald's the night they closed, but I didn't have any.

Piemam · 30/04/2020 23:47

A really good gentlemen's afternoon tea with my ah, gentleman! Grin Beers, mini burgers, cakes, the lot.

Dowser · 30/04/2020 23:53

A big hunk of fish and canarian potatoes, tomato and onion salad and our favourite fish restaurant in Tenerife.
When I said goodbye to the waiter and that we hoped we’d see him in October as usual, I thought he was going to cry.

Saddest thing I’ve ever seen
