I didn't realise she was due already. Baby boy born this morning!

ChipsyChopsy. Are you serious, you really think this would be a distraction for all the people who have lost loved ones to this horror virus.I have a friend seriously ill on a ventilator,he’s only 37 and has a wife and 3 children.Do you really think seeing that pair and their baby will distract from the distress this family is going through.

ImaPinkToothbrush · 29/04/2020 12:01

Was Boris single when she met him?

He was married

TheVanguardSix · 29/04/2020 12:01

this is Carrie’s first baby and his support as partner and dad shouldn’t be removed from her. People are cruel at times.

Perfectly said.
She faced the possibility of not even having the little boy's father alive for the birth! I wish them all the best. Boris still looks like garbage. It's undeniably obvious he's been through a terrible health crisis and that he won't just bounce back in a month.

ducksback · 29/04/2020 12:01

And yet more hating on Carrie Symonds. Who has JUST given birth to what might be a premie baby.

Nice one Mnetters. Let us hope that she never comes here for any support shall we?

tealady · 29/04/2020 12:01

Cantory - do we know if he has tried to meet his child? I would be reluctant to judge as I do not know the full facts. I would hope he has behaved in a responsible way - but it is easy to jump to conclusions. Certainly there are some facts here that make me curious and a little concerned at whether he has conducted himself well. But really only Boris and his partner ex-wife/partners and children can make that call.

Latest squeeze' is right up there with 'mistress' in terms of misogyny. FFS

Possibly. Accurate though

Well at least you are admitting your prejudices. Well done you.

The80sweregreat · 29/04/2020 12:02

It's lovely news in stressful times. I hope the baby is ok.

I do agree there should be a stand in PM , even for a few days , as we are in uncharted waters and things need sorting out without distractions. I doubt he'll resign.

MarieQueenofScots · 29/04/2020 12:03

How do any of us know whether he has been a good father?

Well I don’t think a chap who has not seen a ten year old daughter is going to be winning any prizes, do you?

His elder daughter has made some interesting comments too.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 29/04/2020 12:03

This is bonkers.

If he takes time off the accusations of being lazy, absentee and so on will start immediately.

If he doesn't he will be accused of being unsupportive and not bonding with the baby.

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't, MN is never pleased.

Helmetbymidnight · 29/04/2020 12:03

oh if she did come here i'd give her lots of advice Grin
where are posters getting might be premature from? all reports have just said 'healthy' so far.

cantory · 29/04/2020 12:03

@tealady There are lots of ways to get access. He has I suspect chosen not to meet his daughter.

@tealady
Stop being so naive, it’s been well documented that he has never acknowledged the child he had as a result of an affair.

cantory · 29/04/2020 12:05

@ChardonnaysPetDragon You can work and still bond with your baby. Most of us have partners who have done exactly that. We are in a time of national crisis. Either he is useless as a PM and no one will miss him, or he needs to work.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/04/2020 12:05

@dottiedodah, where did I say he was the only man ever to do it? Of course he isn't. 'Lots of people do it' doesn't make it any better, though. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

As to how any of us know what kind of father he's been, his daughter Lara referred to him as a 'selfish bastard'. She should know.

Thighmageddon · 29/04/2020 12:05

ducksback was agreeing with me earlier about the language used around a woman.

And now I read women described as squeezes

Silvergreen · 29/04/2020 12:06

Ugh. Couldn't even tell the truth about when the baby was due.

Alsohuman · 29/04/2020 12:06

He is a dirty old man, he’s old enough to be her father. Sorry the truth offends you so much @ducksback.

Cam77 · 29/04/2020 12:07

It's really quite simple many people aren't very forthcoming with their congratulations because Boris Johnson is a piece of s*. Literally nobody who knows him personally as an individual has a good word to say about him. Hes also a useless PM who has overseen the UK becoming possibly the worst hit country in the world by this virus per head of population (excess deaths stats widely available on the net - total UK coronavirus deaths estimated upwards of 45,000).

Colouringaddict · 29/04/2020 12:07

Maybe, just maybe his close call with death has changed him as both a man, a partner and a father.

justasking111 · 29/04/2020 12:07

A baby is a joyous piece of news. If he is a bit premature I am sure he will get the best care ditto mum. It must be such a worrying time to be pregnant and having a baby. I have two pregnant friends and they are extra anxious, first timers as well.

I wish them and all new mums the very best.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 29/04/2020 12:08

So a twice divorced father of an unknown number of children by at least 2 or 3 different women, well known for having multiple affairs, moves his latest girlfriend (who is closer in age to his eldest children than to him) into his taxpayer funded home whilst still married to previous wife - has another baby. Good for him.

I know!

Now you put it that way I agree that no one who has ever exhibited that sort of behaviour should have recourse to public funding.

Hmm
ChipsyChopsy · 29/04/2020 12:09

@LadyMary50 Yes, it is a distraction for a lot of people. In much the same way people bake cakes or draw rainbows. And yes, I'm sure people who are experiencing difficult life events aren't easily distracted by much. As it ever was and shall be.
