Coloured Toilet Rolls.

What's happened to them?

Well, I know what's happened to them really. People don't want them any more so they don't buy them, so shops don't sell them. Why does everybody just want white? The biggest choice nowadays is whether you want your bottom wiped by a puppy or a koala.

Why don't you want peach loo roll any more? Or how about having 2 holders side by side and loading one with pink and one with blue?

I just don’t like coloured loo roll - or smelly ones or ones with moisturised/aloe Vera etc.

Plain, white, extra soft (in case of piles).

MadameBling · 28/04/2020 15:28

@olivo Asda own brand comes in Aqua Smile

Neacy · 28/04/2020 15:30

My mum had the avocado colour bathroom suite with the same fancy colour tiles, many years ago, she always had the pink Andrex toilet roll, it was the colour clash from hell.

I had a white bathroom, always had the blue toilet roll, bathroom still white so now have white toilet roll.

@ Aridane - I have to ask - why so many colours? How many in total? Have you ordered any more since 2015?

I am currently looking at mount bog roll. When all this kicked off I thought ‘I’d better put in my usual order of 48 rolls’ as I have a deathly fear of running out of loo roll so buy a mega pack (and it’s cheaper). DH thought the same (unbeknownst to me) then the order was cancelled by the supplier so he ordered elsewhere. Then the other order came, the second one, and my order. Then my BIL has a bright idea of sending us a shittonne of loo rolls because his local shop was selling industrial amounts of loo roll.

My sister ‘hahahahaha I have 48 loo rolls because the people I order from messed up my regular order and send me 24 free to make up for it!’
Me ‘48 or 148? That’s not very much either way...’

I live in a smallish flat. The soundproofing must be excellent now though.

My MIL buys the m&s floral too. I hate it as when I wipe I keep thinking there is blood and then realise it is just a little flower!

pissedoffwithprojects · 28/04/2020 15:37

To the PP with the blue and white puppies on a roll, can you put a link? (Yes, I'm sad)

DobbyTheHouseElk · 28/04/2020 15:38

Waitrose does a peach one. They call it champagne but it’s peach.

Lordfrontpaw · 28/04/2020 15:38

Champagne is more wee coloured than peachy. Quite apt I suppose.

RingtheBells · 28/04/2020 15:39

I like Andrex peach, it’s called natural pebble now and I can only get it from Amazon, I have about 80 rolls of it, all bought before the shortage and I fear it may disappear forever. Oh and my bathroom isn’t peach coloured

Aridane · 28/04/2020 15:39

@Lordfrontpaw

1). I fancied a bit of colour in my life

2). Coloured toilet roll made me smile (and amused my nieces)

3). They were on promotion

4). No more ordered since 2915

Aridane · 28/04/2020 15:40

(2015, not 2915)

Lordfrontpaw · 28/04/2020 15:42

Isn’t 2915 when your next order is due? 😂 what was the best colour - I couldn’t use black but maybe green...

Lordfrontpaw · 28/04/2020 15:42

But my bathroom is blue so that wouldn’t work.

Aridane · 28/04/2020 15:43

The green and the pink!

Aridane · 28/04/2020 15:44

(the rest lacked that neon brilliance Grin)

ChippyMinton · 28/04/2020 15:46

I’m in the market for champagne or lavender to match my non white suites.

Aridane · 28/04/2020 15:48

Back in the day (2015), Amazon stocked toilet paper with musical scores on - but sadly priced per toilet roll and v expensive

Fev11 · 28/04/2020 15:49

Looks like your prayers have been answered!
I haven't seen any though- mMaybe covid has delayed it getting into the shops?

Fev11 · 28/04/2020 15:50

Ignore that- I thought it was from the end of 2019- it is actually from 2009 so I guess the relaunch didn't go too well

NecklessMumster · 28/04/2020 15:53

I thought there were concerns with the dye going into the water system?

Frlrlrubert · 28/04/2020 15:57

Back when I was at uni we ended up having a specific colour of loo roll each (four people) because the boys never bought any and it led to arguments.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 28/04/2020 15:58

I used to buy blue for the downstairs toilet...I have a blue glass sink, novelty blue bubble toilet seat, blue soap and hand towels...it used to last ages cos it's always freezing out there so no one really uses it

I am sad to have to go with white...i think I got some blue dolphins once...maybe aldi??

I am going to investigate the M&S star one though and that puppy one!

GreyGardens88 · 28/04/2020 16:00

Tacky! Though Champagne coloured sounds alright

happymummy12345 · 28/04/2020 16:19

We buy coloured to match our bathroom when we can.

JellyfishandShells · 28/04/2020 16:36

When we moved into our house, it had been refurbished well in terms of things like rewiring, new roof, boiler etc - the decor was not to our taste but we had no money to spare for ages on anything but repainting.

So we were left with a large main bathroom that was like diving headfirst into a bowl of peach mousse: peach walls, peach bathroom suite, peach chiffon festoon blinds - and the sellers had left behind a very large stockpile of peach loo rolls that lasted for a long time.

It hadn’t occurred to me that coloured rolls weren’t generally available any more, since we only want white. Patterned kitchen towels are less of a thing now, as well, maybe?
