Coloured Toilet Rolls.

What's happened to them?

Well, I know what's happened to them really. People don't want them any more so they don't buy them, so shops don't sell them. Why does everybody just want white? The biggest choice nowadays is whether you want your bottom wiped by a puppy or a koala.

Why don't you want peach loo roll any more? Or how about having 2 holders side by side and loading one with pink and one with blue?

I am currently wiping my arse with a koala.
He's not well pleased by this

Wankerchief · 28/04/2020 12:29

I dint like using the puppies or koalas, i end up muttering apologies to these non real/feeling pictures as i tear them off the roll and send them to their doom

Pelleas · 28/04/2020 12:43

Just fashion. Sooner or later people will get fed up with white bathroom suites and avacado will be all the rage again, then we'll see a resurgence of pale green loo rolls.

Nat6999 · 28/04/2020 12:53

My mum insists on some toilet roll with daisies on it, I think she has bought the national supply of it, I did the online order last week & ordered white Andrex, she has put it in my car boot for me to take home when I'm better. I can't lose sleep over what colour toilet roll I wipe my bum on.

Rafflesway · 28/04/2020 13:19

I buy the Shea Butter loo rolls from Lidl for the main bathroom. They are vanilla shade and match the tiles on the wall.

Not been able to get to Lidl during lockdown so have had to revert to white which is really irritating. Only use white usually in the en suite.

First world irritation! 😂

CaptainMyCaptain · 28/04/2020 13:20

I think it was to do with bleaches and dyes, environmental reasons.

olivo · 28/04/2020 13:24

I would love a roll of blue for old times sake.

Grabbber · 28/04/2020 13:38

I thought coloured bathroom suites were back.

We had peach toilet roll when I was growing up but a pink bathroom Shock. I think df must’ve been flying in the face of stylish.

Do they still make tracing paper type toilet roll? Whoever invented that must’ve thought “this’ll never catch on, it hurts to use and doesn’t work but it’ll give it a go”. Bet they couldn’t believe their luck when it caught on.

Whathappenedtothelego · 28/04/2020 13:42

I used to love coloured toilet roll as a child, was always begging my mum to buy different colours, but she never would, only ever white.

My gran would indulge me though with pink or yellow paper when I went to stay - and she had an amazing turquoise bathroom suite so it looked even more colourful.

I promised myself when I grew up, i would always buy coloured tp, but I can't. I compromise by ordering from who gives a crap - the rolls are wrapped in pretty paper. It's not the same though.

UnfinishedSymphon · 28/04/2020 13:45

Can live with coloured, it's the fucking scented one I have issues with, my fanjo has never been the same since DP bought Aldi's scented by mistake

ErrolTheDragon · 28/04/2020 13:46

Does the colour "peach" still exist in anything?
The loo and basin in our cloakroom - 1995. Not a colour I'd ever have chosen but not offensive enough to replace.
We certainly do not require peach loo roll to match it.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 28/04/2020 13:51

I miss coloured bathrooms and toilet paper as well as those boxes of tissues where you never knew whether the next tissue would be white, blue or yellow!

slipperywhensparticus · 28/04/2020 13:54

I used to love blue loo roll

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 28/04/2020 14:00

Apparently, Simon Cowell always has black bog roll. Take that as an endorsement or a deterrent as you will!

People used to match the colour to the bathroom suite colour.

In the days before phones and tablets, people used to go further than that and those with pale pink bathrooms would only ever read the Financial Times whilst covering their boots.

VenusClapTrap · 28/04/2020 14:26

We always had pink loo roll to match our pink bathroom when I was a kid. Pink suite, pink walls, pink towels, pink carpet (oh yes), and a lovely pink knitted toilet lid cover. Bathrooms just aren’t glam enough these days.

Broadwayb · 28/04/2020 14:57

I miss coloured loo roll. It was so gloriously naff. We had a pale blue bathroom suite when I was a kid and had blue toilet roll to match - occasionally pink for that lovely contrast effect.

You know what else I miss? When cotton wool used to come in a big plastic Bag of white, pink, blue and yellow balls.

Redcrayons · 28/04/2020 15:12

My nan always said that coloured toilet paper gave you piles

This sounds like the kind of sage advice my nana uses to give.

My mum always has peach loo roll. No idea where she gets it as I haven’t seen anything except white in shops for years.

worldweary45 · 28/04/2020 15:14

I always thought it didn't flush as well as white

No idea if there's any truth in that theory

aerosocks · 28/04/2020 15:16

It's like white eggs and brown eggs all over again.

Voxx · 28/04/2020 15:18

My parents used to buy pink or peach loo roll back in the 80s. I think my mum used to match it to the bathroom decor. No idea why it stopped - I guess it fell out of fashion. Loo roll has been white at my parents house for a long time now.

Aridane · 28/04/2020 15:20

@Mysterian - I don’t do peach but I did used to buy the coloured ones in your picture off Amazon - loved the splash of neon colour!

MrsTerryPratchett · 28/04/2020 15:22

Or how about having 2 holders side by side and loading one with pink and one with blue?

That's a brilliant idea. Maybe the blokes would change the roll in the houses they currently don't, rather than wiping their arse with pink. Not in my house, everyone knows how here.

Aridane · 28/04/2020 15:23

In fact here is a screenshot of my Amazon history from 2015
