HELP- Just found some kittens!

Posting here for advice. I live across a park and just found two kittens under a tree.
Their eyes have just opened and they seem well fed. However, I haven’t seen their mum yet. I only spotted them half an hour ago so may be too early but just in case I’m dealing with abandoned kittens what would I need to do?
A few things to note. I’m in a warm Mediterranean country and it’s a Bank Holiday over here so my resources are pretty limited.
Thank you.

Oh my goodness! I can’t believe I’ve had to resurrect this thread!

The person who was meant to pick up the kittens didn’t end up coming at all for one reason or another so I have had to take care of them myself!!!! I was absolutely gutted. I mean, I have no issue with baby animals, I absolutely adore them but I know this person would know exactly what to do.

I’ve never taken care of baby kittens before so it’s been so scary..... But they seem to be eating and peeing/pooing well.

I took them to the vets today to get checked over and the vet told me they look really well and healthy and are about 10 days old! Sadly NO ONE will take the kittens at this age. The charities and homes are overrun and kittens are a lot of work.

So there we have it folks....

I will post some photos when I next feed them....

Also, if anyone has more advice it will be greatly appreciated..

@Bluesheep8 Thanks so much. I’m definitely in the minority over here. I can’t imagine how many animals get neglected. Very sad.

This is adorable & takes me back! I hand reared two 15 day old kittens found in a similar situation - four and a half years and two countries later, they are snoozing next to me!

Take lots of photos and videos regardless OP! I love looking back on videos of when they were tiny.

Windyatthebeach · 22/04/2020 14:39

I used to raise orphan dkittens for a charity op. Have you got a calm ddog by any chance? Our lovely ddog was the Chief Bum and Face Washer!!

RubbishQueen · 22/04/2020 14:41

Oh my goodness They are adorable! What are you going to call them?

AnduinsGirl · 22/04/2020 14:45

You're a bloody legend OP. They're SO tiny - 4 weeks or so possibly? I found my third kitten at 4 weeks and she was similar size. Brilliant that they're drinking out of bottles!

MentholChill · 22/04/2020 14:52

They are absolutely gorgeous 😻😻 you're doing an amazing job! X

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 22/04/2020 15:03

Aww, they are dinky!

Costacoffeeplease · 22/04/2020 15:03

Well done op. I’ve hand raised lots of kittens, happy to answer any questions. Main thing at the moment is de-flea, de-worm at about 3 weeks old. Keep them warm, and feed every 3 hours, then toilet them

Good luck!

missmouse101 · 22/04/2020 15:05

OP, well done! Do you know you have to stimulate them to wee and poo, otherwise they don't go properly. Take a slightly damp piece of cotton wool and wipe it over the anus and urinary opening a few times. You need to do it frequently, as this mimics the mother cleaning them.

perniciousdot · 22/04/2020 15:07

OP you are an absolutely wonderful person Halo

Ellmau · 22/04/2020 15:11

Poor little lambs, they are so lucky you found them.
