Since Christmas I've been letting go a bit but sorted it without weighing myself etc in Feb. Since then I've gone downhill again and just realised for the first time today - I am really overweight.

What prompted me to check this afternoon is my face. It didn't feel right, felt all funny at the chin. I can literally FEEL a double chin now when I look at my phone etc.

Took a selfie with DS just now and bang, double chin galore!

Anyone else gone from slim to fat suddenly? I'm usually a firm size 10 and 5'4 in height. I am now a 12 or smaller 14.

Rahhh! Need to get back on track Sad it's so depressing.

I recovered from at eating disorder in my early teens so have to be careful.

By reading some of the comments its no wonder we have a problem with obesity in the world. By going up a dress size can be the line between healthy and unhealthy for some people
I never had a problem with my weight untill i hit 30, was always around the 8 stone mark size 6 to 8 and i am 5ft 5in, eat and drink what i like, then slowely it crpt up untill now at 38 went for a medical for a new job and the nurse told me was borderline obese, fell off the chair. I had noticed, clothese didnt fit me that had in my wardrobe, going up a size in jeans and dresses. It wasnt just parts but tight all over. My sis was delighted as she has alwasy strugged with weight and now i knew how she felt. I went to a weight loss help expert and it was only when i really sat down and loooked at it , i realised my bad habits and the amount i was eating. I went on a keto dite and downloaded my Fitness pal to take an accurate look at what i was eating. Some things do shock you when you realise what is in them. Like a crossant is 260 calories :( Slowely i lost a couple of pounds, the started easing in exercise as i found i wasnt as tired when the weight started to go. I felt better in my self not as suggish and slept better too. I have a long commute which didnt help things so lockdown has helped me do more exercise. Now three months on i am down 1 stone and 2 pounds, i have slowely lost it. I have niticed the differnce my clothes fit better and have gone down a dress size. My double chin has reduced, skin is cleaer and my thighs dont rub together when walking. Just slowely work on reducing your intake and increase your exercise, as you have mentioned you had an eating disorder i would talk to the doc and check in with them refgularly just to see if you are ok or may a thearapist. Whatever you do make sure you are happy and best of luck

@ElizabethMountbatten I’m a 5 foot 8er who could be a 16 in a jiffy (and have been). Really recommend low carb high fat as the easiest way to keep weight in check without wanting to chew your own arm off in hunger. I’m a high street 12 (I am aware this is not a 1960s 12) - though do go a bit bigger with tops as oversize tops are in at the mo.

Went for a walk/run this morning, my back is sore after PT yesterday, so I couldn’t run as much as usual. Will hope to improve it tomorrow. Being trapped in the house is not helpful is it Grin

I'm struggling with the lockdown load. I was noticing that I was stuck on the top of my happy zone anyway and struggled with motivation over the grotty winter to shift it back down to 9st anyway (I suspect a looming 40th birthday might be at play.)

Now, I'm burning less because I've lost all my background activity from walking around like the school run, and one bout of outdoor activity per day just doesn't keep my metabolism high enough to eat a "normal" diet. At 5 ft 2, and a pear shape with only B cups as a hiding place, it all goes straight on my hips, bum and wobbly post-big baby/CS mum tum, oh and on my face. On a sedentary lifestyle, I'd have to keep calories down to a pathetic 1400 per day just to sustain my weight, and I exercise a lot to be able to eat a normal range of foods. Meanwhile I have ravenous ribby children and a tall hungry husband to keep fed, and accessible cupboards full of food. This is not a good time to be imposing abstenance upon myself.

Seriously, I'm only ever a hearty lunch away from a pregnancy rumour (Not helped by my abdomen, skin and muscles being trashed by big babies with only one direction to grow in).

I mostly wear comfy clothes that are forgiving on fit, but yesterday I put on my old "size 10" decorating jeans. They did up OK in November. They technically did up yesterday but not with enough give to bend over and fit without futher splitting the rear seam. Meanwhile my current "size 10" jeans are falling down to my hips. I know which pair of jeans is not lying!

Size is so relative to height and build. I could be notably overweight before filling up size 12s due to my lack of height and gaining excess fat over muscle. I just want to keep in the top half of a healthy weight zone which for me is a 8 top and 10 bottoms. I have no opinion on other peoples' clothes sizes because most people are quite differently proportioned to me.
