I left my sandwich on the side and my cat stole it Grin was a first time for that as I went and did something for a few minutes and thought she was out Grin

My cat used to raid our neighbors bin. One summer day the cat just waltzed in their back door, got a chicken leg from the bin and wandered off.
She licked all the icing off a cake I made. Thankfully not the one I was going to give to a friend!
She's too old and has a gammy back leg for any of those antics now so she's perfected her "poor little me" meow. It probably works on some people too.

My cat will eat anything off the kitchen side, she has had three pieces of pizza, the milk out of cereal bowls and sandwich ham. She has also started kicking food of my 18m DS high chair tray. My collie has eaten a cheque a £10 note. Alphabet magnets off the front of my fridge and 7 pieces of a brand new puzzle I hadn't even started! And a pair of flip flops 😂 don't leave anything around in my house!

Southernfried · 15/04/2020 07:24

I was sitting down one morning to some toast and cold meat for breakfast and the door went, I was away maximum 1 minute and I came back and carried on eating my toast until I realised it had no ham on it and the quite a lost less butter. The dog had clearing ate the ham and had been licking the butter while I was gone !

Wish I had this on video but my cat literally jumped from the other couch through the air and took a chicken fridge raider out of my hand before it got in my mouth! Me and DP were like this Shock

My old boy (god rest his soul) was an ex stray for whom the need to scavenge never really left him.

He came home with stolen sausages (twice), ate a bowl of defrosting profiteroles and I used to have to eat crisps standing up as he used to mug me for them.

Don't even get me started on the food compost bin....

justlikejasper · 15/04/2020 07:39

My dog once ate a whole stick of garlic bread 🤦🏻‍♀️, i made it for our dinner but neither dp or i fancied it, cleared away most of the dinner plates but for some reason the garlic bread got left on the table.. i think she ate it in 4 seconds flat!

ifowaa · 15/04/2020 07:48

I'm guessing Labrador just? Grin

JellyfishandShells · 15/04/2020 07:56

Greedy beagle ( a tautology ) stole a large baked potato from a nearby school swill bin. It got jammed in her mouth and she crying into the house, looking for help. It was simultaneously the most piteous and hilarious thing we had ever seen.

usernotfound0000 · 15/04/2020 08:01

We have a particularly greedy tabby cat here. Former life as a stray and I don't think he's ever lost the mentality. A neighbour messaged me yesterday to let me know he was in her house and had been licking a plate with balsamic vinegar on. He has also stolen food from both children's plates when they aren't looking, frozen chicken that was defrosting on the side. We now can't leave anything out or he'll have it.

Our spaniel knocked over hubby bouncing out of the car, went to the high street into the equivalent of a hardware shop stole a pigs ear, then lay in the sunshine eating is and benevolently accepting pats from his adoring public in the garden centre of the shop. Fortunately I knew the owner of the shop who found it hilarious. I got a call at work asking if Mr Toria was missing a dog .. when he arrived Max was happily accepting pats and had been given a large bowl of fresh water in case the shoplifted contraband was ‘too salty for him!’. Hmm

As a teen I'd prepared my cookery basket for a lesson in chicken and mushroom soup in Home Economics later in the day. During the lesson I couldn't find my cooked chicken anywhere. I made mushroom soup which I now dislike.

At home I told my DM that I'd lost the chicken. The penny dropped when she said she'd found cling film and tiny bits of white on the living room carpet. The bastard cat had hooked the chicken out of my basket and eaten it. I hated that cat for other reasons not just for being a chicken thief.

One of my sister's cats chewed the chocolate decorations off the Christmas tree, just leaving the foil wrappers still hanging.

bullyingadvice2017 · 15/04/2020 09:27

My old spaniel once stole a cadburys cream egg. Swallowed ot whole. Foil and all.... it appeared the next day in a poo. Still wrapped in the foil...🤮

twinguineapig · 15/04/2020 09:51

Our guinea pigs will take a chunk out of your apple or banana if you aren't looking, apparently it's nice to share Grin

buzzwizz619 · 15/04/2020 09:58

My bunny stole the last 1/4 of Easter egg I left unattended on Sunday.... that was a fun call to the OOH vets 😂

HolaWeenie · 15/04/2020 10:32

My friend was smug at being on top of her housework, kids playing instead of fighting, both dogs walked, and the marvelous roast she had prepared for all to enjoy, took the last of the washing upstairs and when she came back into the kitchen her dogs had snatched and consumed the whole of the roast chicken! She was amazed as it was hot straight out of the oven! They slinked off to their beds, with a look of "worth it" on their faces Grin

justlikejasper · 15/04/2020 13:10

@ifowaa cocker spaniel / hippo!

justlikejasper · 15/04/2020 13:12

@sueelleker her farts are grim at the best of times 🤢

SpaceCadet4000 · 15/04/2020 13:21

One of mine is a food stealer, the other is fine. The food stealer has perfected the art of grabbing and running. He loves anything flour-based, green vegetables and salad and most sauces. We put a lot of effort into stopping him as he also has feline IBS and human food upsets his stomach, but he's lightning fast.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 15/04/2020 13:24

idiotcat is a devil for food

he drinks my tea and coffee, he mugs people at the table for french beans and paddles in the gravy boat if it is left out.

my old ginger cat was really trustworthy around food unless we had paella when he would whip a prawn out from under your nose from your plate if he could.... was not bothered with prawns at any other time.

Elouera · 15/04/2020 13:25

PIL's lab once got its head stuck into a large, flip lidded bin where the food was kept. He ate and ate, till he could no longer walk!

Same dog ate a whole cake I'd made which was wrapped in cling film- he ate the wrap too!!!

pussycatinboots · 15/04/2020 14:25

Danish pastry.
Swiped from MY plate!

We had friends round for drinks a while back and had some cheese and crackers laid out on the coffee table. Took our eyes off the dog for about 30 seconds and came back to find him chomping on a huge block of vintage cheddar Shock

We absolutely didn't cut the knawed end off and serve it to our guests Blush

Windyatthebeach · 15/04/2020 14:32

My dcats steal veg from dc plates!!.

pussycatinboots · 15/04/2020 14:35

And I caught our old cat, before we moved house, carrying a WHOLE PACK OF HAM minus the packing over the fence in her teeth to the back door, before daintily licking, separating and devouring each slice in front of us. Grin
NDN said she regularly put out ham or chicken slices because our fairly obese cat looked hungry Hmm
