Do you 'dress' your bed?

So looking at new duvet covers online which made me ponder...

My bed is just mattress, mattress cover, fitted white sheet, duvet with cover and 2 x pillows with covers (double bed).

Is yours the same?

In the pictures I quite often see 2 or 3 sets of pillows eg one with the standard pillow case and also one with the edging around it (Oxford?), sometimes a plain white pair as well and a bedspread and/or cushions on the bed.

Now part of me thinks that it's just marketing to sell more of the product range and part of me thinks hmm, that looks quite nice and maybe that's how everyone else does it..

We have a throw at the bottom and a few ‘scatter cushions’ (which DH hates).

I hate hotel rooms where they put cushions on the bed. What are you supposed to do with them?

Just mattress, topper, fitted sheet, duvet, 2 pillows (1 on each side), plus 2 extra pillows stashed at the side for sitting up with. All just for me. White for the bottom sheet and spare pillows, sets for the 2 main pillows and duvet. Duvet is currently a 4.5 tog one, and I'll probably just roll up in a thin blanket in the summer.

Couldn't be bothered, and it when a hotel bed has all that crap on it, as you know it's all chucked on the floor between guests. Horrible, no need for it, it's not a work of art.

I love the look of a dressed bed but in real life I couldn't be arsed. I sleep alone so my bed is usually covered in crap anyway books, kindle and my hot water bottle

I have:

matress cover, fitted sheet, duvet cover, 4 pillows (2 in white and 2 grey currently), 3 square decorative pillows and a throw over the bottom half!
