What do you see that you don’t understand or find odd??

For me it’s the fake bricked up windows on new builds.

What are they all about? I see loads of them

A house near us has a tumble drier in their front garden, which they use. Even in the rain Hmm

Samtsirch · 09/04/2020 22:55

@Buscake
Because everything was black?
Why did you feel the need to focus on one particular aspect of this post ?
What is wrong with being black?
Genuinely confused, I found your question befuddling and slightly offensive.

Windyatthebeach · 09/04/2020 22:58

BunnytheBee I hope it isn't for the Sunday Easter roast dinner...
Sad

Echobelly · 09/04/2020 23:00

I noticed for the first time on a walk round the neighbourhood that one 1930s semi has a lovely custom-made black wrought-iron porch with silver-painted stars and a moon hanging inside it!

RestYourHead · 09/04/2020 23:14

@SwerfandTurf wait I need to know more about the famous catShock
PleeeeeaseGrin

Leflic · 09/04/2020 23:17

Buscake Have you watched the Matrix? Morpheus is black.
Why did you ask?

SwerfandTurf · 09/04/2020 23:58

RestYourHead, there’s a magnificent giant cat that looks exactly like a tiger who wanders around the neighbourhood. Apparently he’s a local celebrity. Our Facebook local is full of posts from people breathlessly saying that they finally met Oleg, like he’s Elvis or something.

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 10/04/2020 05:25

@8Track you nearly made me spit my tea out then Grin Grin

I actually love this thread and wish people would come back with photos. I like the fairie door idea and would like my tree to have a crocheted cover for it's trunk.

daisypond · 10/04/2020 05:31

A man practising ballroom dancing solo in a drained public paddling pool. I’ve seen him a few times. Must be where he goes to exercise.

Sennetti · 10/04/2020 06:42

@daisypond that’s so bizarre!!

What a time to be alive!!

A flat near me has a blocked up window and it is painted with a blind to look like a real one.

Scruffyoak · 10/04/2020 07:28

I would love to see pics of all these.

Bluesheep8 · 10/04/2020 07:41

daredevil223 I'd love to see a pic of that cottage!

SoupDragon · 10/04/2020 08:08

If you do a new walk drop nothing ever.

Surly it's simply "drop nothing ever" whether it is a new walk or your usual one Confused

MusicianTom · 10/04/2020 08:10

On the road leading to the park where I walk, there's as ice cream van parked in the drive of one of the houses. Nothing especially unusual in that, but this week in the sunny weather, every time I walk past I really want a 99 flake!

KatherineJaneway · 10/04/2020 08:29

Probably 1 in 3 people walking up day in day out stare right in which is a bit rude and they stop and look.

Buy some net curtains

LizzyButton · 10/04/2020 08:29

An ice cream on a walk is the reward I yearn for.

Sometimes I go past a house where the family puts things out for sale with price tags on them. I used to think it was the result of a clearout, but it can't be as it just goes on and on with different stuff. Plant pots and pet cages feature heavily and it seems to be accumulating rather than staying at a stable level.

InTheGardenDrinkingTea · 10/04/2020 08:36

I too have always assumed the fake bricked up windows were am attempt to make a new build house look old; an attempt to recreate the historical practice of bricking up windows during the window tax period of the 18th and 19th centuries when property tax was based upon the number of windows a property had.

RestYourHead · 10/04/2020 08:39

@SwerfandTurf oh thank you for the explanation! Sounds amazing, I want one in our town (its very boring where I liveGrin)

BunnytheBee · 10/04/2020 09:06

I hope it isn't for the Sunday Easter roast dinner...

😮 surely not?!

Is this a thing? Do people bring home their lamb live now??

MaccaPacca81 · 10/04/2020 09:10

People with flag poles in their front gardens...the surefure way to identify the neighbourhood nutcases.

CocoLoco87 · 10/04/2020 09:15

I was going to come one with the bricked up windows fact. The house I know with it is very old, huge and listed so it was to do with window tax.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 10/04/2020 12:23

Is it in Knaresborough?

Thecomfortador · 10/04/2020 12:29

A lady round here spray paints her trees. Purple, green, etc. Like a metallic paint. I've walked past while she's doing it. Different and the trees seem ok with it.

Seventyone72seventy3 · 10/04/2020 13:02

@YetAnotherSpartacus
No, I'm in Italy - and those are far more interesting. Mine is just a half-pulled down blind painting!
