Im going to say it before a million others do, 2 words...

MR FROSTY.

Tiddlytubbies · 07/04/2020 14:09

Haha! I came to say Mr Frosty 😂😂😂

ClapForCats · 07/04/2020 14:12

Oh wow - I had forgotten Mr. Frosty.

We bought him for DD. Abominable shite.

See I knew it. I honestly feel like a generation of children learnt about false advertising solely because of that snowman. Grin

Abominable shite.

Maybe if the stupidly smug frozen fool makes a comeback this could be the tagline for his advert. Grin

I loved the game SCOOP! I have never met anyone else that has heard of it so thanks for the reminder @ClapForCats. Once lockdown is over I might try and dig it out of my parents house for a trip down memory lane.

Mlou32 · 07/04/2020 14:57

Did anyone have this doll called 'Cricket'? You put a tape in the back of her and pressed play, and she used to 'talk'. Pretty creepy looking back.

I loved Mr Frosty and this little cadburys vending machine that you put 2p's in and it'd give you a mini choc.

Namechange8471 · 07/04/2020 14:59

Yes to the Cadbury vending machine😂 I was so disappointed when it ran out, I thought my 2ps could buy chocolate forever!

inwood · 07/04/2020 15:03

I was never allowed a Mr Frosty because my mum said it would be rubbish.

Ricekrispie22 · 07/04/2020 15:04

Sky dancers. My poor dad had to rescue them endlessly from the neighbours garden or from being caught in trees.

PorpentinaScamander · 07/04/2020 15:04

I was desperate for a Mr Frosty. Then my best friend got one and I was so jealous. Until I had a go with it. What a pile of shit.

My brother had the Cadbury vending machine. It was great until the chocolate ran out and we couldn't get refills. (I cant remember if they weren't available or Mum couldn't afford them)

For me personally it was Puppy Surprise. I rushed straight to the aisle she was in when Dad took me to Toys R Us to pick my presents. Kept my fingers crossed all the the way home that she would have the maximum of 5 puppies. She did. Oh wow was I happy. Until I find out they did not fucking fit back inside. My mum must have been sick of me asking her to do it "just one more time"

helpwithhouse · 07/04/2020 15:05

Ahh I loved my Cricket doll Grin

ArthurDentsSpaceTowel · 07/04/2020 15:07

Sindy dolls. I had a few, most of them second hand. Only my newest brunette one had bendy legs so she was the only one who could actually use the furniture. Sadly she broke her hip elastic ligament and ended up disabled.

MrsHa · 07/04/2020 15:11

Me and my friend both has play post office sets. It was a case that opened and made the screen for passing the post under and there were rubber stamps and weigh scales for parcels. We played with them for hours. When I told my DH about it he thought that its was the saddest thing he had ever heard of.

APurpleSquirrel · 07/04/2020 15:15

I soooo wanted a Mr Frosty. My friend had one & her & I got got into such a mess using it my mum flat out refused to ever buy me one.
Does anyone remember Build a Better Burger? Loved that game.

Wolfgirrl · 07/04/2020 15:17

Tamagotchi. I've got lots of siblings and every day we would line them up on the table before school so mum could 'look after' them during the day. They soon died of starvation or whatever and she made us ceremoniously chuck them away.

ofwarren · 07/04/2020 15:18

Etch a sketch
I could never draw anything except for lines and squares!
The adverts made it look like you could draw all sorts.

BlackCatSleeping · 07/04/2020 15:20

I had completely forgotten about the Cadbury’s chocolate dispenser.

Did anyone else have a View Finder? You looked inside and pressed a button to change the picture. I’m sure kids these days would be very impressed.

PleaseStopCrying · 07/04/2020 15:21

I was never allowed a Mr Frosty because my mum said it would be rubbish.

Your Mum sounds like a smart lady. You should thank her. She saved you from crushing disappointment and getting into a sricky soggy mess.

sqirrelfriends · 07/04/2020 15:22

Sky dancers. My poor dad had to rescue them endlessly from the neighbours garden or from being caught in trees.

Omg, sky dancers were the best!! I got a batman one for my nephew recently and it didn't have half the fire power mine did, I'm surprised they didn't injure any kids the speeds they did.

BloomedAgain · 07/04/2020 15:23

See I always wanted a Mr Frosty but never got one. So he lives on as a perfect version in my head.

bananaskinsnomnom · 07/04/2020 15:24

Baby All Gone! I used to think it was so magical, until someone pointed out the cherries disappearing into the spoon......I remember being so disappointed

Furbies. After a day I wanted to burn mine.

I never did get a Mr Frosty, I understand why now!

bananaskinsnomnom · 07/04/2020 15:28

Oh I remember another one!

I begged for a Fun Fax! (Anyone remember? Essentially a children’s Filofax system that you could buy different books for to add into it)

It was so boring! Apart from the sticker page.....

Bananalanacake · 07/04/2020 15:29

Keypers, but they weren't shit, I still have shledon in my DDs room.

BlackCatSleeping · 07/04/2020 15:30

Sorry, they were called view masters not view finders. They were crap but I was fascinated by it.

I loved our Mr Frosty. Even the little spade to dig the ice out.

We had aSpeak n spell. I loved it’s American accent and the way it spelled things like color.

ClapForCats · 07/04/2020 15:31

I remember spending months trying to work out how the Magic Robot knew the answers.
