Bought 2 bottles in Tesco on the way home from work. Stressed so cheers!

Still unable to work from home, but perhaps that is a blessing or it’d be wine for breakfast.

soupforbrains · 02/04/2020 19:30

@NightOwl19 well,

I bought a bottle of sipsmiths as standard. Then I went a bit ‘out there’ and bought some unknowns. Bottle of JJ Whitleys Black Cherry gin and a bottle of Raspberry meringue gin too.

I also have half a bottle of Parma violet gin and half a bottle of Mermaid gin.

I also, bought plenty of Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic for with them. Also some bitter lemon for if I fancy a change.

Also some elderflower cordial and sparkling apple juice, because that goes well with the sipsmiths if I fancy something more elaborate.

I also have raspberries, lemon juice and Peroni to make another unusual gin cocktail if I feel like it (sounds gross actually delicious, I learned it at the distillery down the road)

Any further questions?? Grin

I haven't got wine (I don't like it and I rarely drink) but I am sitting here nursing a cup of tea. It's a posh cuppa, too, rather than the Tesco stuff we use most days!

JamieFrasersSassenach · 02/04/2020 19:45

No wine here 😓, but have whisky and pink gin - deciding which to go with and then I will join you WineWine

cliffdiver · 02/04/2020 19:46

Drunk too much wine last night!

Today was declared an emergency inset day, much to the delight of DDs Grin

mynamesmrdiggety · 02/04/2020 19:56

Violet G and T here. I am struggling. Trying to work with 1 year old and 5 year old, plus homeschool. Everything is falling down.

mynamesmrdiggety · 02/04/2020 19:57

@soupforbrains can I come round please!!

caperplips · 02/04/2020 20:02

I'm about to pour a tanqueray, fever-tree elderflower tonic and LOTS of ice and a slice of lemon - cheers!

JigsawsAreInPieces · 02/04/2020 20:02

We've opened a bottle every night so far without even thinking about it. It's not good.
Sad

WildRosie · 02/04/2020 20:10

Zinfandel here in West Yorkshire. It's my favourite red of the moment and good value too. It went well with the steak I just scoffed, and will partner Saturday's home-made pizza equally well. Bottoms upWink.

Nanalisa60 · 02/04/2020 20:15

5pm is gin & tonic in my house

Escapeistheonlyoption · 02/04/2020 21:49

I had a glass or wine with lunch- I told the children that I was tasting it to make sure it was the right wine for dinner- they bought it.

More tasting tomorrow for breakfast I think.

JamieFrasersSassenach · 02/04/2020 23:07

@Escapeistheonlyoption drink it from a teacup - the kids need never know!

DENMAN03 · 02/04/2020 23:20

I've renamed my alcoholic drinks 'quarantini's' ...anytime after 2pm is fine with me.

soupforbrains · 03/04/2020 08:18

@mynamesmrdiggety sure why not. But you’ll have to stay in the conservatory and I’ll serve you through the kitchen window so as to maintain social distancing...

gerbo · 03/04/2020 17:03

I've just opened some fizz and it's going down a treat...I've waited all week for this!!

Anyone else?!

mbosnz · 03/04/2020 17:11

Finishing off the remains of a bottle of 'The Ned' sav blanc, then onto Goldwater - sav' blanc.

I'm a woman of fairly predictable tastes. . .

Wine cheers everybody. The end of another working lockdown week!

ilovecakeandwine · 03/04/2020 17:19

Yep wine time here now , it's Friday Wine.
I've waited till 8pm in the week but at weekends anytime is wine time .

Escapeistheonlyoption · 03/04/2020 17:45

drink it from a teacup - the kids need never know!

Genuis

Escapeistheonlyoption · 03/04/2020 17:47

My DH like this wine and always selects the right glass (a wine bore) is swigging red from what he obviously thinks is a casual french style tumbler befitting these times. It is an empty Nutella Jar

(yes I know they are meant to be used as glasses but it is amusing me)

devildeepbluesea · 03/04/2020 17:47

Rather jaded from last night's Zoom pub quiz so I'm steering clear of my 15-bottle stash until tomorrow, which is my birthday. I feel an early start will be the order of the day.

ReturnofSaturn · 03/04/2020 17:49

I just had a gin and orange juice.

No tonic water in but had juice!

Popetthetreehugger · 03/04/2020 17:54

Oooo gin and orange , that was my drink of choice in the late 70s😆 I feel one calling now 🍷
