At ANY of the major supermarkets? Ocado emailed me to say as I'm an anytime pass plus customer, I would get priority booking - been stuck in a "paused" online queue since 11am this morning. Have checked every single day with all other major supermarkets and nada. Is there a secret or are there literally just no slots available.

Nope given up trying to be honest

nomdefuckit · 27/03/2020 19:32

Try local suppliers. Veg boxes, meat boxes, bakeries etc

ByGrabtharsHammerWhatASavings · 27/03/2020 19:38

Snap sexnotgender, I did the exact same. Up at 5 to book a slot for 3 weeks time!

Rosecatter · 27/03/2020 19:58

I'm looking every day. Managed to get an Asda one for Good Friday. There were a few times available but quite expensive. I guess that's why they were available. People maybe don't need them enough to be willing to pay extra for that day...

ScouseQueen · 27/03/2020 20:01

It must be very variable depending on area. Folk here saying Tesco have loads available but I've been looking loads and have only just managed to get one for 16th April.

Rosecatter · 27/03/2020 20:01

Sainsburys click and collect slots here are for a supermarket in the next city. I don't have a car. If I did I could just drive to a local store!

aWeaponCalledtheWord · 27/03/2020 20:03

asda add more slots overnight. i’ve managed to snag slots that were suddenly available at 5.30am.

i’m disabled with no transport and the thought of not being able to get shopping delivered is awful. i rely on it completely.

aWeaponCalledtheWord · 27/03/2020 20:05

and the asda app works better than the browser version...

YgritteSnow · 27/03/2020 20:09

I did this morning for the 20th with Ocado. I'd been in the queue all night though. Fell asleep phone in hand and woke up just in time with ten minutes to go. It said no slots before I even got on but I thought I would just take a quick look any way and there was one day of slots on the 20th so I grabbed one quick. I think they're releasing them day by day. My sister got a Tesco one for tomorrow earlier today so she must have just got lucky with a cancellation.

delilahbucket · 27/03/2020 20:10

Got one for Sainsbury's tomorrow as a delivery pass customer. Never been so excited in all my life! As to what turns up though, we'll see. I'm not holding out hope for any sugar that I've been trying to buy for two weeks ☹️

Chrisinthemorning · 27/03/2020 20:12

I think our shopping patterns have changed a lot.
Everyone is at home. We all normally eat lunch at work/ school.
We normally eat out fairly often.
We are shopping for 3 self isolating grandparents as well as ourselves and dropping food round to them so they don’t have to go out.
I think the supermarkets are struggling with this change in who is buying what as well as demand.
I’ve managed to get slots due to insomnia.

ChequerBoard · 27/03/2020 20:17

OP you don't need to join the Ocado queue if you are an anytime smartpass customer. They are contacting these customers in batches. You will get a text message with a link you can click to go directly into the site and book your slot. I had my text this afternoon and booked a delivery for 11th April (already have one booked for 3rd April)z

WhatICallMyUsername · 27/03/2020 20:17

I managed to get a Sainsburys slot for today as a delivery pass holder. 17 substitutions and nope no substitutes available for that so ended up sending DH to Morrisons on way home anyway! Luckily they'd emailed early this morning to say what they were(n't) bringing so I'd done a list. No sodding alcohol either Confused

Oh and as you can't return anything I am now stuck with random things I will never use (unless we get really desperate!)

Likethebattle · 27/03/2020 20:20

Sainsbury’s will only give you a slot if you
Are registered as vulnerable, disabled or elderly so you have to register via a government site in England or use a special phone line in the rest of the uk. A friend is temporarily employed on that line as they need more staff. Unless you
Meet the criteria you will not get a sainsburys slot.

tryingtorun · 27/03/2020 20:28

amazingly I managed this evening to get a Tesco click and collect for Sunday. I'm sure there weren't any slots when I look earlier in the day, so I am mightily relived

WhatICallMyUsername · 27/03/2020 20:32

@Likethebattle that's incorrect. The email I had from Sainsburys stated that they were releasing slots to delivery pass holders whilst they caught up with the backlog of those you mentioned and I received my delivery today as I posted above

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 27/03/2020 20:32

Managed to get an ocado slot for a week Sunday.

Had an email yesterday to say ad a priority customer I would get an email but hadn't today. DH just happened to login and we got straight in and a slot for a week Sunday🎉 Delivery I booked before it all went to shit came today. Less substitutions than last week but they sent bread flour but no yeast🥺

I'm not vulnerable but I'm a nurse so trying to ensure we all avoid contact with anyone except work. DH is working from home and the boys never go out anyway😉

RainbowMum11 · 27/03/2020 20:41

Our Sainsbury's stopped it's click and collect facility a year or so ago so sadly we don't have that option now.
However our local shops, butchers and grocers are quite well stocked and most are also offering delivery, so might be worth looking into?

confusednortherner · 27/03/2020 20:44

The isolation must be affecting me more than I thought as I expected different thread from title 😂

JoeySpecial · 27/03/2020 20:47

Fortunately, not Covid 19 linked, I have a recurring slot with asda which I get delivered every week any way so I am just keeping that going.

RaeCJ82 · 27/03/2020 20:52

I booked a slot with Asda for next week a couple of weeks ago and will do a two week shop which will take me to a slot I have with Waitrose on the 13th April, which I also booked a couple of weeks ago. I don't have any booked after that.

Likethebattle · 27/03/2020 20:56

@WhatICallMyUsername well that’s what me friend was told at work. I led you are on the ‘vip’ list (that’s what the call vulnerable customers) you’ve a snowballs chance in hell. Maybe they are opening them up to delivery pass now but without that you will get nothing. They are not selling new delivery passes for now.

Lordfrontpaw · 27/03/2020 21:00

I tried to set up a delivery with any supermarket at all for my MIL - there was none that I could register with with any delivery slots (and she is in the ‘vulnerable’ category).

RaeCJ82 · 27/03/2020 21:00

Just had a quick look on a couple of the apps and noticed that I could book slots on Sunday and Monday with Sainsbury's if needed, so it's worth checking back to see if any have opened up. I'm not on the vulnerable list.

PumpkinParent · 27/03/2020 21:03

Managed to get one yesterday for 15 April for my parents who are 200 miles away but only because I woke up at 5am worrying about them.
