Police can issue people who gather in crowds a fine of £30. FFS!

Even £1000 would not stop these idiots.

I believe it starts at £30 but can go up to an unlimited amount

Can they not be sprayed with some indelible green ink so everyone else could see they were idiots and avoid?

There's provision for the level of the fine to be increased until it does act as a deterrent.

And after Thursday, when the Act comes in, repeat offenders could be prosecuted

£30 is OK.

For a first 'offence.'

Then it's recorded, and if you are caught AGAIN, it's £75.

Then third strike, and it's £500.

Whether the fine goes up or not they still have the chance to infect someone. I bloody give up!!

It probably shouldn't be a fine at all since those with more money than sense can treat it as the cost of permission to do what they like.

We should invent something suitable like the indelible green ink idea or since they wanted to be there so badly handcuff them to the nearest lamp post and come back for them the next day. :)

Shave their eyebrows off and tattoo 'I am a twat' across their forehead. Should sort the problem out!

£30 is far too little for a fine.
It seems to diminish the terrible crime they are potentially committing.. The suffering and potential death of others

Obviously the worst punishment is house arrest

I know this is supposed to be serious but I'm in stitches! These punishment ideas are top notch!

It's €500 in Spain for being in a car with another person. Maybe they should start at £500 here.
