£30 FUCKING FINE!

Bottletopsx · 24/03/2020 18:51

Police can issue people who gather in crowds a fine of £30. FFS!

Even £1000 would not stop these idiots.

They can fine you up to 25,000€ in Germany...!

noisehelp · 24/03/2020 22:01

Weren't some of the drug companies asking for volunteers to be given the virus and then testing new meds? Why not round up all the rule breakers and 'volunteer' them for this job which could save lives.

Inbetween experiements they must write out one million times, 'I am not special. I will follow the rules like everyone else.' in caligraphy.

fascinated · 24/03/2020 22:04

They could maybe be put to work collecting my brown bin and manning the tip. Our local Facebook page is up in arms about these closures. Seems the rule breakers are desperate to get out of the house — so why not?

milkysmum · 24/03/2020 22:12

Very few people were I live are taking the guidance seriously. We are self isolating completely but from my house we can see groups of children playing on the street, people have been posting all day on FB about heading off to the local picnic places, lots and lots of people going off to work as usual, very little impact over all it would seem despite the lock down. I feel frustrated that I'm a nurse manager, single parent, have managed to agree working from home so the kids don't have to go into childcare, have accepted that my life is pretty much me and the kids for the foreseeable, and yet every other bugger in our village is swanning around like lots a 3 week national holiday having a great time.

Changednamesorry · 24/03/2020 22:18

Yeah its 600 euros here in Spain. Bit more of a deterrent....

Bargebill19 · 24/03/2020 22:20

I suggest a water canon ..... but only if I can have a go.

nicenewdusters · 24/03/2020 22:24

I'd take their phones off them and put a hammer through the screen, in front of them. This is probably the only thing that means anything to them. All the selfies of them and their mates, out and about over the past few days. They'd probably miss their phone more than any of the people in their lives.

If you're so immune, off to NHS Nightingale Hospital with you for community service - clean the loos giving an NHS cleaner a rest for a week, and doing the tea trolley for all the A&E staff after ward round.

MonaLisaDoesntSmile · 25/03/2020 08:54

Parading through the streets (2 meters away) so that people can judge :)

£30 FUCKING FINE!
catsareme14 · 25/03/2020 09:01

I love the green ink option !

viques · 25/03/2020 11:01

neon orange t shirt

Always makes me giggle when I see local groups of community paybackers reluctantly picking up bits of rubbish. Quite a few of them turn their community payback tabards inside out - but you can still see the writing!

Jaxhog · 25/03/2020 11:03

Can they not be sprayed with some indelible green ink so everyone else could see they were idiots and avoid?

If only! Although I also rather like the Lion idea. Or National Service.

aintnothinbutagstring · 25/03/2020 11:06

We've been importing the virus since it first broke out, it's been circulating for weeks if not months, because stopping flights was bad for the economy, why not give the people who thought that was a good idea one big fucking fine rather than blaming the plebs (as usual)? Confused

aintnothinbutagstring · 25/03/2020 11:21

It's not as if the government didn't know how bad this virus was, they've had since January to prepare. They've actually had years to prepare for a serious global pandemic, but this government are sending out old out of date PPE that the Labour government probably purchased for bird flu. Zero screening at airports, tiny posters up at pharmacy and GPs 'advising' people who have travelled to self isolate. And you lot want to throw your toys out of the pram for someone seeing a mate? Or walking slightly too close to someone in the street. Get a fucking clue.

HaudMaDug · 25/03/2020 12:54

@treaclepumpkin
I was wondering what Mr Putin might be up to right now. Wink

janj2301 · 25/03/2020 14:23

But lots of people NEVER pay their fines so there will be a whole new admin level to collect the money

hamsterchump · 25/03/2020 14:39

You people are insane! Calling variously for your neighbours, colleagues, family and friends to be tattooed without consent, birched or caned, or forcibly experimented on all for the crime of being outside! You guys make the Nazis look tame. Tell me will the children be let off their first offence or will they be sent to Dr Mengele's clinic too? You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Doobigetta · 25/03/2020 15:49

hamsterchump I keep thinking, at least we now have the answers to the questions “how did the nazis manage to operate so effectively” and “could it ever happen here”.

fourpeasinapod · 25/03/2020 18:00

It’s a bloody disgrace imo. I honestly thought the penalty would be way tougher than a £30 fine.

Should be a minimum but potentially unlimited £2500 fine.

Some may think that my view point is OTT but This is a matter of life and death we are talking about here.

I don’t know who would have the money to pay £2500. Maybe that would persuade people to abide by the rules

Parker231 · 25/03/2020 18:04

From what I’ve seen it’s mainly children and teenagers who are still gathering. Why do their parents not keep them in the house?

fourpeasinapod · 25/03/2020 18:08

@Parker231 it makes me so angry. The wee brats think they know better than doctors and scientists.

Hazelnutlatteplease · 25/03/2020 18:13

Its a lip service lockdown.

The govenment couldnt actually care less. They still believe in herd immunity and its a mild illness

Parker231 · 25/03/2020 18:17

I don’t think the Government are treating it as a mild illness. I’m no fan of Boris and his gang but they have made huge commitments to try and beat the virus. Unfortunately we’ll be paying for the impact onto the economy for a generation.

stuckinthemiddlewithtwats · 25/03/2020 18:17

As my neighbour said to me earlier, £30 fine for breaking the rules yet its £100 fine for dropping a fag end. She's currently sat drinking with mates in the garden 🙄
