Have you aged ten years overnight on a supermarket website?
Are you sticking to the 'two sheets' rule?
Have you had it with singing celebrities?
Are you yearning for what we will now call The Before Times?

If you've answered yes to any of the above, here's where you come to post threads about Naice Things - like ham and cats. Where The Virus That Must Not Be Named (TVTMNBM) is off-limits.

We'll do our best to keep the corona-free zone moderated - you do your best to chill out and gather strength. Flowers Brew

Keep using the normal boards for normal stuff, but here's where to come if you need a break. We're hoping everyone will see the value of having somewhere to get away from it all.

Thanks,
MNHQ

Your sweet peas are lovely, i can almost smell them Smile. I sow them every year with varying outcome. I'm envious that yours grow all over the place.

Princess Gracie doesn't look a happy bunny, can't say I blame her. When you have a fur coat, why just why would you put clothes on top of that?

Think your vase is a touristy piece and perhaps Schadenfreude is right that it is haunted Shock (or just not glanced inside). Could you channel your spiritual powers and start asking it questions? Perhaps it is a cross between alladin's lamp and birdie friend? Shutters 😳.

theoriginalmadambee · 06/04/2020 11:01

Argh that was meant for @Sissymate2

Sissymate2 · 07/04/2020 03:37

You lot cheer me up!
Glad you like the sweet peas...not many people grow them here in the US.

Haunted vase, so you two say.😂😂😂😂. I'll try your suggestions and see what happens...so far all the magic I've been able to conjure up is to have it produce bright pink marks on my counters....my husband eats a lot of fresh raspberries and at first he thought I had squished a berry on the counter and hadn't bothered to clean it up...that's exactly what it looks like, too
So why(other than the haints) do you suppose pink is coming out of it since blue is a primary colour.?
Anyone?
MinnieMountain, sweet peas are such a treat for a wedding flower and what a talented dear aunt you have
@theoriginalmadambee...you are so right about Gracie and clothes. She will only allow me to dress her up in an outfit once ....if I try to put it on her a second time, she takes off running and dashing as soon as she sees it again....she practically has sparks shooting out of her back paws from the speed of her getaway.

Sissymate2 · 07/04/2020 03:45

Here's another flower that grows in my garden...a bird of paradise...They are so easy to grow...only need sunshine and a little bit of water

Grin Grin Grin

Bunnyflop · 07/04/2020 10:06

@Sissymate2 you are so lucky to be able to grow those birds of paradise plants in your garden.

theoriginalmadambee · 07/04/2020 12:28

@Sissymate2 lovely flowers. I have a sneaky suspicion that you live in a warmer climate than me Grin.

That said I'm very proud to report that my asparagus are up, doesn't look much but earliest ever, i think.

theoriginalmadambee · 07/04/2020 12:28

If you can spot them at all Blush.

Sissymate2 · 07/04/2020 17:48

I love seeing everyone's gardens...keep those photos coming.
I'm glad you like my "bird' , Bunnyflop. They are the most intriguing flower...so many unusual parts....also as madambee suggested, I do live in a warmer climate so I am also blessed to be able to grow passionfruit.... these not only produce delicious
unusual fruit but the flowers look like something out of science fiction. And so easy to store.I just pop a whole fruit in the freezer and it lasts forever. When I'm ready to eat it, I can eat it frozen like a frozen pop or defrost it and eat it the regular way.

Madambee, I am so envious of your asparagus! You soil looks so rich. I tried to grow some about 10 years ago and have yet to see one little tiny sprout peeking out.....the soil around here is sandy clay and harder than cement...it would take enough soil amendments to fill a million lorries to get vegetables to grow., plus we live in a drought area...if I do try to grow anything edible, I have to save my washing up water or bath water to keep them living. 🛁

For all you wild garlic lovers, this just popped up on my FB feed!

Cheers, *Rousette!

Those look amazing.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/04/2020 16:41

DH got wild garlic chicken Kiev's from Waitrose for Valentine's Day. It didn't occur to me at the time but I wonder where on earth the wild garlic came from in February.

I've been gardening today, my bluebells are starting to bloom ... most of them seem to be white, that used to be a small minority when we first had them.

My purple patch

Welcome to the no corona zona
ErrolTheDragon · 11/04/2020 11:45

Lovely.Smile my patch of Pulmonaria seems to be doing well this year too. I've got masses of self-seeded forget me nots and honesty giving some nice colour elsewhere.

PurpleBlueAnemone · 11/04/2020 12:38

I've got self seeded honesty too. It's lovely in flower.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 11/04/2020 16:23

I've never been able to get honesty to grow in my garden, despite the fact that it ia all over the place outside off it.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/04/2020 17:37

My honesty all started from a couple of seedlings a friend had potted up from her garden. It may be one of those things (foxgloves are another IME) which don't do well from packet seed, you need to start with plants and let them set seed. Then you can move the seedlings to where you want them, though I get more honesty than I need so quite a lot gets weeded out.

That's all for this time of year but the nasturtiums I put in a week ago are starting:

MinnieMountain · 11/04/2020 20:36

I'd love some honesty, but I suspect we've got too many purple/blue flowers already.

Our self-seeded nasturtiums should pop up again though.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/04/2020 21:41

There's no such thing as too many purple and blue flowers, IMO.

Jacob guarding the Easter window. It's rather basic as I am not an artistic person.

My honesty is white Confused
I planted some cosmos seeds I bought last year and they've just popped up!
About to sprinkle poppy seeds as I'll maybe find it hard to get my usual bedding. Mind you I don't have much luck with poppy seeds.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/04/2020 19:37

White honesty can be gorgeous too, one of those plants which lights things up.

I get poppies at random after digging up an area - in my previous house they would be a sort of pale purple, here they're a lovely raspberry colour. I think it's a bit early for any seedlings to be appearing yet. They don't like being transplanted so they have to stay random!
