Anything at all, small or large!

I'm about to go and refill the bird feeder so my feathered friends can feast up! And my tea is at exactly the right temperature.

Beans on fried bread

My tadpoles and the garden in general.
I'm WFH and have some very boring spreadsheets to check but being able to look out of my patio window at the birds and the garden is great.
The dog thinks it's Christmas having me at home and is sleeping in the armchair next to me.
I've also got some delicious curried roast parsnip soup on the hob. Apart from a rampant killer disease and all the associated worries, on the whole life feels pretty good.

Lois "Beans on fried bread"

Tell me more about this. Baked beans? What type of bread?

For research purposes only, you understand...

Fried bread with beans is the best!

Especially if you also dip it in runny fried egg yolk

LoisEinhorn · 24/03/2020 17:45

@BuzzShitbagBobbly has to be white bread, veg oil. Make sure the oil soaks in so the bread goes crispy.
Baked beans, whichever you prefer. Don't scrimp and half one slice, make it two.
Bean juice soaks into crispy bread.
Bloody amazing.Wink

LoisEinhorn · 24/03/2020 17:47

@Laneboy I can imagine I don't eat eggs though. Used to, wish I still liked them

Thank you for your noble efforts into delivering new taste sensations Lois

Beautiful weather, time with husband and daughter and daughter 6 has just learnt to ride her bike without stabilizers this evening Grin

Timeforatincture · 24/03/2020 19:53

Gorgeous weather, I have a garden to be in, Skyped dad and sister earlier, will be skyping adult kids soon.

Knowing we can't see them is ensuring we all talk more.

mooboy · 24/03/2020 20:47

The dog being happy and relaxed!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 25/03/2020 11:05

I'm going to 'meet a few friends for coffee' later today on Houseparty. If there absolutely HAD to be a pandemic in my lifetime I'm so glad that it has happened in a time of technology and not, for instance, in the 1970s.

I'm sitting in the HGV, deep in the Northumberland countryside. It's exactly the right temperature, the buds are popping, and in about an hour I shall wander south, book the container in and go home.

The glorious weather, and it's looking like it's going to stay until early April.
Hanging washing on the line - back garden is north facing therefore I can only hang the washing out between March and September.
(Slightly CV related) not bothering with my hair and make up or ironing clothes.
Having the time for DD and I to make a cake for DP's birthday next week - coffee and walnut (and I'd already bought the walnuts before Britain went mad in the supermarkets)

I've been casting around for the past 5 years for a PhD project. I work in higher education and, as I was discussing with my boss yesterday how we were going to develop a strategy for more online teaching should there be a resurgence in September and how this will profoundly change the way universities design and deliver teaching I suddenly realised "There it is". Now I just have to write up a proposal and get them to fund it for me.

I planted a wisteria 5 years ago, and noticed yesterday that it has flower buds for the first time! I’m ridiculously excited to see it in flower in a month or two! Smile

DHound is living her best life, people at home, early morning walk/run, snoozing in the sunshine all day, it makes me happy just watching her.
