Anyone else in the Ocado queue?

I am at queue position 6659 of 8372 to edit my order. My queue position isn’t changing but the number of people in the queue isn’t.

@salty78 why would it go to waste? Presume it would just stay in the van and then go back to the warehouse. There is refrigeration in the vans so fresh stuff wouldn’t go off. They would lose loads of money if they just chucked it all!

They don’t chuck, but the last time I had a meat substitution I didn’t want the driver said it can’t go back into stock.

He said it goes to a homeless shelter or something but this was a pork joint so I have my doubts.

Also there is a time limit even in the refrigerated vans. I had a very delayed delivery recently - driver had personal issues, stuff had to be brought in a different van - & I couldn’t have my frozen food because it had been in the van (in the freezer!) more than 12 hours.

I edited my order that's booked for this Friday last night. I find that if I wait until after midnight, I don't have to wait long to get to access to the site. Pleasantly surprised by how much is still available to order. A bit confused by some of the groupings of the limited items. Had to work out what to drop to put something else on a few times. But will be very happy if my Friday order arrives!

For those interested- I used to work at Ocado - any fresh/frozen food you refuse at the door goes straight in the bin. By 'the bin' I mean containers that local charities are allowed to come and help themselves too.

They can't go back into the warehouse and can't be resold. Ocado loses the money. It's due to the one way system design of the warehouse.

Just as an FYI. I have a weekly order. Last Friday’s turned up ok - no substitutions. My next Friday one seems to be booked in as normal. I edited it last night and I agree with the PP who said it didn’t take as long as the website said - maybe 35 mins wait when it said over an hour. Availability was reasonable, not great but stuff in nearly every category, just maybe not your usual brand. I won’t edit agai

Oops... won’t edit again as I’m a bit nervous about jeopardising it, so who knows if that is what I will actually need by the end of the week, but a decent basic shop, pretty much based on my usual pattern but reflecting the fact that we need stuff at lunchtime as everyone is at home. They seem to group stuff and limit it - I couldn’t get both block butter and lurpak spreadable, and I usually get both without viewing myself as a butter hoarder but no biggie.

Website down since about 2am.
I have a delivery due this morning and just got my receipt. Frozen chicken breast not in stock, I wish they could have subbed it for something else that we can eat but so be it.

I've been queueing since it came online after 6 AM and got kicked to back of the line 4 times. I've given up.

Got in this morning but no delivery slots being offered. Website open only for those amending orders already placed

I have that thing where they automatically book me a slot and a trolley full of stuff every week, which I usually amend. This week I queued for hours to get on the site, there were loads of subs they wanted me to choose an alternative for. Then the order wouldn't go through. Then later I got an email saying my order had been cancelled AngrySad

They are being really shit at the moment. No communication from them at all! Are they are raking it in!
