I nearly cried in Aldi today

I went to Aldi to do my weekly shop today, as well as pop a couple of extra things in just in case we get stuck (flour, veg to freeze), plus a chocolate milk for the homeless guy outside the store. I only had a limited amount to spend, basically carer's allowance for DS2, so was being quite careful & also bearing in mind that neither DH nor I will be able to work & it's not been a great year already for us.

It was very busy but everybody was being very nice & polite & chatting to each other, which was quite nice. The queues were massive! When it got to my turn & the total flashed up, I didn't quite have enough money for everything, by about £2, so had to put 1 thing back, very embarrassing Blush

But then when I got outside, the lady who had been behind me at the checkout came up to me with the item & said she had bought it & wanted me to have it! She was so kind, I was bowled over. Made me quite emotional that people can be so kind.

I just wanted to share that story because it has restored my faith in humanity. Thank you so much Aldi lady Flowers

Ahh that’s so lovely! Thank you for sharing ❤️

I was given a pound by a nice lady before when I was over my total! She had been at a different till to me and overheard the situation. Just lovely 🙂

Willow2017 · 16/03/2020 12:39

You deserved a little kindness back op. Lovely story made me smile. Nice to see good stories on here too amid the doom and gloom.

AnneJeanne · 16/03/2020 12:41

That’s the sort of kindness that makes such a difference.

whiplashy · 16/03/2020 12:41

That was nice of her. Did we need the detail of buying chocolate milk for the homeless man?

inmyshoos · 16/03/2020 12:49

@whiplashy yeah we did because it highlights that kindness breeds kindness. If that makes one person feel more generous and kind after reading it then yes it was worth the detail

TheShepherdsCrown · 16/03/2020 12:55

That is really heartwarming. You and the lady are truly lovely people. Thank you for caring for the homeless guy. They are so vulnerable and have so little.
