Anita Anand and Paddy O'Connell alot. They sound so warm and friendly. I used to love the sound of Alistair Cooke as well.

Am I alone in this or do others have similar leanings.

Tom Swarbrick (lbc) Reminds me a lot of Louis Theroux.
Rachel Burden (bbc radio 5)

Love:

Liza Tarbuck good fun, enjoyable and highly entertaining. I love her asking people to say what they are having for tea and what they've done today.
Paul O'Grady love his voice and his show is entertaining. Glad he's back on Sunday nights.
Alan and Mel were great while he was away. Looking forward to hearing them in the Summer.
Craig Charles (It's his meaningless drivel that we find so entertaining during a late night drive home !)
I like Rylan when he speaks properly i.e not cockney and not put on posh. However, him chatting to his mum on his show is very boring and got stale really quickly for me. The Dance Floor diaries were good though.
Love Michael Ball's Sunday morning show. Very entertaining.

I miss Simon Mayo, especially his, 'confessions' slot. To bad he left and Jo Whiney stayed.

Stuart MacConey was good.

Paddy McGuiness was excellent when he's broadcasting on the radio. Very witty and up to date.

Don't like:

Cannot bear that Amal bloke. Very boring and just sounds like the work experience stand in.

As for Elaine Page - jeez, how does she get away with playing the same track for the whole 2 hours of her show ?

Sara Cox used to be good but her breakfast show is rubbish.
Zoe Ball used to be good but is just irritating now.

Robert Elms is a professional Londoner.

Jeremy Vine might as well be radio static as far as I'm concerned I cannot stand his voice or the way he speaks.

I was quite sad when rad mac moved to weekend mornings when I rarely get the radio to myself but Shaun Keaveney makes me just as happy to listen to. It's such a disappointment when Tom Ravenscroft his constant fucking whining and awful taste in music stands in for him.

Love listening to Lauren Laverne because she's so positive. (and it's nice to hear a northeastern accent on the radio, even if I don't particularly have one of my own) she put out a lovely message, last week www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/lauren-laverne-wants-help-support-17925817

Guy Harvey does have a voice that makes me all gooey and I love a bit of Ken, when we're in the car, which doesn't have DAB. Is his still taking a break?

Neil Nunes is only 39!

Johnny Walker - loved him, hated his choice in music.
Fi Glover
Greg James swoon

PickAChew · 15/03/2020 22:19

The ironic thing about Tom Ravenscroft is that I could listen to his dad all day.

jalopy · 16/03/2020 06:21

Yes, definitely Fi Glover & Jane Garvey podcasts called 'Fortunately...'

Their wonderful humour makes me chuckle.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 16/03/2020 07:08

John Suchet on Classic FM

wonkytonkwoman · 16/03/2020 08:33

Mathew Parris and Eddie Mair yes!

Eddie Mair. Brilliant voice.

No one has said Chris Evans??! I love him on virgin breakfast. So positive & even wise these days!

I agree with this too. I adore Chris and the team

LiveFatsDieYoGnu · 16/03/2020 11:20

Rob Cowan and Petroc Trelawney on radio 3 have lovely soothing voices, and Georgia Mann cracks me up with her quirky humour!

Ginfordinner · 16/03/2020 11:23

No one has said Chris Evans??!

There's a good reason for that. I cannot bear his screechy, high pitched gabble. I prefer more measured, lower tones like Johnny Walker and Terry Wogan.

Yes to Petroc Trelawny as well

lazylinguist · 16/03/2020 12:09

Oh and Blowers , formerly on Test Match Special. I know he has a preposterously posh voice, but in a rather lovely way!

WaterIsWide · 16/03/2020 20:52

Chris Moyles is good fun to listen to.

Desperately miss John Peel, even now. His Saturday morning radio show was fantastic.

As for Dermott O'Leary he used to be good but his Saturday morning show is just a cringe now. Car Wars was good, so was Slave to the Kitchen. These days, he's really only interested in talking to his guests that are usually musicians of some sort. It's embarrassing listening to him trying to sound cool.

He struggles with the last hour of his show as he actually has to do his job.

Cannot bear Chris Evans, the prat just prattles on.

WeAllHaveWings · 16/03/2020 21:04

No one has said Chris Evans??! I love him on virgin breakfast. So positive & even wise these days!

Love Virgin anthems on commute, but as soon as that twat comes on in the morning with that bloody irritating "it's the most wonderful....." the channel gets quickly changed.

RuffleCrow · 16/03/2020 21:08

Zoe Ball! I feel like I've grown up with her. She's so positive and lovely.

Guy Garvey on 6Music. Also Radcliffe and Maconie.

Most Classic Fm presenters.
