Anita Anand and Paddy O'Connell alot. They sound so warm and friendly. I used to love the sound of Alistair Cooke as well.

Am I alone in this or do others have similar leanings.

I love Ken Bruce, Sara Cox , Jonny Walker and Rylan on a Saturday afternoon he just cheers me up. Radio 2 is my fav .

Huey Morgan. His voice reminds me of nights out on the LES when I was younger. He told me I had great taste in music once and I nearly died on the spot.

Ken Bruce.
I miss Kirsty Young on Desert Island Discs.
Lauren Laverne has a lovely voice and I hope she improves as an interviewer.

Neil Nunes on radio 4, if I can’t sleep I quite often turn on him reading the shipping forecast and he sends me straight to sleep Blush

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 15/03/2020 19:28

Funny how different people see things so differently, I can’t stand the sound of Anita Anand (I’m sure she’s lovely in person! Smile) because she seems dismissive in tone to me and it makes me feel annoyed on behalf of those callers she cuts off. Voices and manner that make me calm and happy are Ken Bruce, Vanessa Feltz, Paddy O’Connell and, bay far the best, Amol Rajan.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 15/03/2020 19:30

Oh and my DDs used to go sleep every night listening to the dulcet tones of Margherita Taylor

Walkingthedog46 · 15/03/2020 19:30

Neil Nunes on the World Service - such a lovely rich voice

Blownaway22 · 15/03/2020 19:31

Terry Wogan and Ken Bruce.

oohnicevase · 15/03/2020 19:32

Bloody Ronan Is awful , he sounds like he doesn't want to be there !

MrsPnut · 15/03/2020 19:33

Radcliffe and Maconie on a weekend morning are brilliant. This weekends talking points were the important matter of using the tea and coffee making facilities in a hotel room.

SwanneeKazoo · 15/03/2020 19:35

Johnnie Walker & Eddie Mair, also Petroc Trelawny from R3, Alan Kasujja & Lawrence Pollard from World Service and Harriett Gilbert from WS & R4

RubbishSwimmer · 15/03/2020 19:35

Ken Bruce.

Liza Tarbuck.

Chris Moyles & Dom.

LouisaJenny · 15/03/2020 19:37

Greg James on BBC R1 breakfast, and Nick Grimshaw drive home.

I love both their voices and think they are hilarious too.

NerrSnerr · 15/03/2020 19:40

Ken Bruce is my favourite. He's got me through some tough times.

goose1964 · 15/03/2020 19:42

Our local radio presenter Richard Lewis , he has a voice like Terry Won an but without the accent.

Coxie2006 · 15/03/2020 19:45

Ken Bruce for sure! Also love listening to Guy Garvey on 6 music on a Sunday afternoon, I love his voice.

ILLBESUZIE · 15/03/2020 19:46

Vanessa Feltz has a beautiful voice

Flymetothetoon · 15/03/2020 19:48

Paul O'Grady - it's lovely to hear him back in his Sunday evening show and I just love the mix of (often quirky) music he plays

Coxie2006 · 15/03/2020 19:48

I also agree with MrsPnut I love Radcliffe & Maconie. Crisps on the radio is a highlight for sure!

FinallyHere · 15/03/2020 19:49

Neil Nunes swoon.

Jenni Murray (r4 woman’s hour). Just reminds me of nice midweek days off at home (I’m a nurse) pre DD, with some relaxed pottering and cooking in the kitchen. I don’t get to hear the radio much now over all the toddler chat!

Justtrying · 15/03/2020 19:50

So miss Sir Terry, but Ken Bruce is great as are Trevor Nelson, Gary Davis, Nicki Chapman. Love Sara Cox and whilst not a folk fan Stuart Mconie is always entertaining. Always listen to Radio 2 in the car unless a long journey on a Saturday then radio 4 kicks in. No longer driving at unsociable hours as out of work thanks to Corona, but still trying to catch popmaster during my job search.

yorkshireteaspoonie · 15/03/2020 19:51

I'm amazed so many people love Ken Bruce, not for me I'm afraid.

I enjoy the nostalgia of Steve Wright and used to love Simon Mayo. Reminds me of being a kid in the car in the 80's ... days out with the parentals to somewhere outdoorsy

Isesgirl · 15/03/2020 19:53

I like Ken Bruce and love Rylan on the radio. I think he was made for it.

Also not radio presenters but from a podcast, which is near enough, Josh and Chuck from Stuff You Should Know. I'm really interested in what they have to say but as I listen at bedtime to wind down and having got to "know" then so well over the years, the comfort of their back and forth discussions often mean I fall asleep and have to listen again the next day!!

SinglePringle · 15/03/2020 19:54

Vanessa Feltz is just amazing. Funny, SO bright, eloquent and razor sharpe ans has a brilliant talent for disarming her guests and making her callers feel valued and intelligent, even when they’re not. Wonderful Posh North London voice.

Robert Elms. Lovely smooth and comforting North West London voice and truly truly loves our city.

Sir Terry of Wogan. God.
