I have to tidy and clean and I don't want to before kitchen man gets here :(

OP posts:
happypotamus · 13/03/2020 15:48

I booked an appointment for counselling (through my work employee assistance scheme so it's not months and months waiting list) next Friday. I am terrified.

DettolsYourFriend · 13/03/2020 15:48

Whether or not to send my kids to a gathering of 600 other kids tonight. No one else is the least bit concerned it seems! 😕

NewNameChange2020 · 13/03/2020 15:49

Mine and my husband's small businesses each taking a massive hit with all the fears of coronavirus. He can have a lot of ocd tendencies due to anxiety and wants to self isolate (no symptoms or anything) whereas I want to keep going as normal as possible until advised otherwise. It's causing each of us to fret.

DettolsYourFriend · 13/03/2020 15:50

Happypotamus, I've been for counselling and I was also very nervous before the first time but mine was lovely, put me at ease immediately Thanks

hotstepper4 · 13/03/2020 16:35

Coronavirus in general
My nan is hours from pass away
Might get made redundant if there is a financial crash
I'm having a tough time. It helps to write it down.

chocolate26 · 13/03/2020 16:38

Coronavirus (if I'm panicking too much about it) I'm also 26 weeks pregnant.

Pregnancy in general! Feeling kicks, not feeling kicks etc.

This is tough.

WillWinterEverEnd · 13/03/2020 16:41

Waiting for this baby to arrive. Currently 38+1 and so fed up. I like to plan and not knowing when she is going to make an appearance is causing serious stress. Don't feel like I can go out anywhere as I am worried about waters going in public or getting stuck somewhere on my own.

BasilDiffuser · 13/03/2020 16:48

Worried I will have to cancel DD’s birthday party. Her last two birthdays have been shit thanks to other people and I was finally able to do her a party and now I will have to cancel.
Ditto a street party I was planning for work.

Mummyme87 · 13/03/2020 16:49

Whether or not my wedding on 11th April will go ahead and whether my guests will be able to get here 😔

MinnieMountain · 13/03/2020 16:52

Whether or not DH will have to cancel his ski trip to France. I know it's a fun thing but he's been really stressed at work and needs the break.

happypotamus · 13/03/2020 16:57

And coronavirus obviously, but booking the counselling appointment gave me something else to worry about for a change. The anxiety about talking about my anxiety... (I don't have coronavirus-related anxiety, I am mostly ok about that, just general inexplicable anxiety)

BikeRunSki · 13/03/2020 17:00

This week I’ve had:
2 days of additional OOH shifts for flood incident response (totally messed up sleep)
Had to run a Cub meeting solo at v short notice (30 mins) due to other leaders’ illness.
DD football tournament (had to start work early to fit this in)
DS music exam (had to work late to fit this in)
DH away, but concerned about his business/the economy
Concerned about DM who is 77, asthmatic and diabetic. She is in otherwise good health, but lives 300 miles away.
Job interview for a grade up.

And now... it’s all over! Apart from the economy and DM.

At the moment, so much has bern cancelled next week I’m not stressing about anything. Yet. Just as long as schools stay open!

Waspie · 13/03/2020 17:04

I'm having the simplest Civil Partnership ceremony next week. Just DP and I plus two friends as witnesses. Weekday while kids are at school. I'm worried they'll close schools, the restaurant we've booked our celebration lunch in will close and whether one or both of our witnesses and/or the registrar will have to self isolate. Does anyone know if signings are legal if they're via Skype? Wink

BikeRunSki · 13/03/2020 17:04

Actually scrap that. Am stressing about foreign holiday in 3 weeks (unlikely) and 7 week school summer holidays.

FireUnderpants · 13/03/2020 17:08

DS has cough variant asthma, we've opted out of a beaver camp this weekend so he doesn't cause a panic. I'm wondering if he should go anywhere as people look if they hear a cough.

DD has a party Sunday. A few of her friends had coughs. Not sure to cancel or hand out face masks as they arrive.

DSs hamster died. I haven't told him yet.

MinnieMountain · 13/03/2020 20:31

Happypotamus I finished counselling for anxiety last week. It really helped.

ShirazSavedMySanity · 13/03/2020 20:35

That the sore throat I’ve had all week is now developing into a tickly cough

FrenchFancie · 13/03/2020 20:48

I live in Cyprus. Practically all the flights to U.K. have been cancelled, or will be cancelled. My grandmother is dying and I won’t be able to come and say goodbye or attend her funeral.

wheresmymojo · 13/03/2020 20:54

We have about 4 weeks of money left until we can't pay our mortgage or bills - the job market for my roles is absolutely dead because of Coronavirus.

lucysmam · 13/03/2020 21:02

I suspect my (new, senior) colleague of theft. No concrete evidence but have notified Regional Manager of my concerns because the things going missing are things only I usually use.

It probably looks like I'm bitter (enquired about the position but was told I'm not good enough :( ) but I don't want to be accused of theft when it certainly isn't me & there wasn't an issue before now

OldGrinch · 13/03/2020 23:17

DP being made redundant at end of month. Will be redeployed to another job in the organisation but less money. Household income will go down by £400 per month.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 13/03/2020 23:19

Coronavirus as I work in the travel industry and it's been a hell of a week

Overseasmom100 · 13/03/2020 23:21

Slight sore throat and a little bunged up
...worried

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/03/2020 00:27

Coronovirus because I work in the NHS
I know that there will be staff affected by school closures ( thanking my lucky stars that mine are 20/17) and having to take emergency leave.
Or caring for ill relatives .
My DParents are elderly too.
Worry about my DC exams -will they go ahead?
Can my DC work from home /lessons online?
DH can work from home

I will be face-to-face , dealing with patients who are worried . Patients who won't care as long as they get treated .(and will whinge if I run late) . And patients who will come in with potential virus because their needs are the highest priority (in their mind)

It will happen. So many times I've had someone sit in my chair telling me they're fighting flu / suffering a flare up of shingles / scabies .

"But I didn't want to cancel in case I had to wait a long time" Hmm

The next few weeks will be a challenge .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/03/2020 00:30

Goes without saying , my two black cats are not stressing at all
They're curled up on two dining room chairs .
They know there are 2 x 40 packs of their catfood so they're happy .
