Is this okay to wear for work

I have a black funnel top from Topshop however you can see my bra underneath. I don’t know if I’m being paranoid but do you think it looks too ‘night out’

I won’t be showing any flesh as it’s clearly high neck, plus I’ll just be pairing it with black jeans. Also, I’m small chested like the model so you can’t see any cleavage

I work corporate office, but we have a ‘dress for the day’ policy (e.g. jeans fine when you have no meetings)

No. I wouldn’t class that as appropriate for work.

latheritup · 12/03/2020 00:06

I don't think so, no

gracefull · 12/03/2020 00:07

Sorry OP, in my opinion this is not appropriate for a work environment, especially not a corporate office.

Another no.

namechangin · 12/03/2020 00:08

Maybe with a vest top underneath it would be okay, but not with just the bra

Frannibananni · 12/03/2020 00:13

Seriously No.

CornishPorsche · 12/03/2020 00:20

Christ no. That's a nightclub top.

Likethebattle · 12/03/2020 00:29

Not unless you wore a vest top underneath. You should never show underwear in the office.

managedmis · 12/03/2020 00:31

Nope

itslateimsleeping · 12/03/2020 00:32

mnthrowaway202020 · 12/03/2020 01:02

You can’t be serious?

I used to work for Topshop and that top would definitely be styled for a night out, not for corporate workwear. It’s not an opaque top that’s see through due to poor quality material, it’s a top that’s intended to be sheer/mesh. Your bra is supposed to be on show, particularly if you wear something pretty and intricate underneath like a lace bralet, with a leather skirt and heels.

Just buy an opaque black high neck top for work. I would feel uncomfortable seeing you essentially in your bra within a “corporate office” as a colleague. I would have worn it to a Topshop shift, but certainly not during my current finance career.

This will be you OP Grin

Only wearable to the office with a black tshirt under it and I assume that’s not what you want.
I have worked in pretty casual work environments but this wouldn’t be acceptable in any of them, sorry OP. Perhaps if you’re a Vogue editor it would be ok but not in any ‘standard’ office. Save it for a lovely night out Smile

PerfidiousAlbion · 12/03/2020 01:20

This has to be a joke.

PegasusReturns · 12/03/2020 01:20

Absolutely not for a corporate office.

If you were in my team and wore that id probably ask you to go home and get changed, depending on who was in the office that day.

1littlequestion · 12/03/2020 01:28

Could wear a white shirt underneath too, a little bit longer than the top so it hangs down under it. But no not appropriate on its own.

mnthrowaway202020 · 12/03/2020 01:29

I’m thinking perhaps you could get away with a matching blazer-trouser co-ordinate set, with the top tucked into the trousers. Obviously you’d have to keep the blazer on and buttoned all day, and wear a cami underneath the top. Goes without saying that this would still be a “fashun” aesthetic rather than a corporate aesthetic regardless.

Wearing this with black jeans is a definite rave/festival/clubbing outfit.

DappledThings · 12/03/2020 07:38

Absolutely not. I can't believe you are having to ask this.

edwinbear · 12/03/2020 08:46

One of my colleagues came into work dressed like that a couple of months ago. The women spent most of the day gossiping about her whilst the men felt desperately uncomfortable and didn't know where to look. Really, really, inappropriate.
