What size would you guess I am?

Today I've seen a photo of me and I feel I look much bigger than I thought I was. Dh thinks I look fine. I'm wondering if my brain is just completely unable to identify what is normal anymore.

What dress size (UK) would you think I am and where on the bmi - healthy - overweight or obese?

I thought a size 12 and healthy before reading on. Is that a Studio Ghibli Totoro tshirt? Grin

Growingboys · 29/02/2020 21:31

Size 14 I reckon

Galvantula · 29/02/2020 21:37

I would have guessed 12, healthy bmi range.

Sizedoesntmatter · 29/02/2020 22:01

@Lobsterquadrille2 I’m a size 8, proving my point to the OP that 1 picture is just that, a picture and it has no bearing whatsoever!! Here’s another couple for comparison

Lobsterquadrille2 · 29/02/2020 22:07

@Sizedoesntmatter I was conned by that pesky baggy jumper!! Yes, I agree, angles are everything and you look very much a size 8 in your subsequent photographs.

BarbaraofSeville · 29/02/2020 22:08

I thought she looked a ten waist up but more like a fourteen from hips down. And indeedThe jeans are a twelve and seem to be pulling over the hips. Classic pear

I thought similar mainly because I look more or less the same and the completely identify with the varying sizes, it's like clothes manufacturers haven't even seen or thought about the women they claim to be making clothes for. I gave up trying to buy dresses from m&s when I realised that in their world I had size 8 shoulders, size 12 bust, size 10 waist and size 14 hips meaning that they're never going to fit.

countdowntonap · 29/02/2020 22:10

14-16

countdowntonap · 29/02/2020 22:17

Having now seen your second pic, I’d go with larger size 14.

DrFoxtrot · 29/02/2020 22:24

I agree it's an unflattering photo. I'm almost a stone heavier than you and same height and look thinner. It will be the angle.

PanicAndRun · 29/02/2020 22:24

Poetryinaction · 29/02/2020 22:28

Second photo looks 14.

I would be really curious to know if the people saying 16/18/20 are skinny, fat or a mix

I guessed size 14 and I’m 5’10”, 10 stone and a size 8/10.

hurryupautumn · 29/02/2020 22:48

14-16

bottleofbeer · 29/02/2020 23:18

A lovely, toned 12-14.

You don't need to lose any weight at all. I'm an 8 but would totally swap for your lovely flat stomach. I'm sort of flabby/thin 😁

Wereeaglesdare · 29/02/2020 23:49

Right so because I said I don't want to look like a bag of bones with no tits or no ass that makes me vile?

So who am I basing this on? all I invisioned when posting that was a painfully thin ill person. So yes rather than being a bag of bones I WOULD rather have tits and an ass. Someone else might prefer smaller breasts and longer legs or no breasts at all and a penis. All bodies shapes should be celebrated apart from the imaginary image in my head of a bag of bones of course. Don't quite understand why that makes me the bitch on this thread but fine I'll own that.

I also think very naturally slim women have beautiful collar bones and lovely hip bones and legs that look great in anything. I think pear shaped women have beautiful bums and tiny waists. I think you can find the beauty in any body shape but it was the OPs I was celebrating at the time. Ofc I'm insecure have you seen how brutal women can be. Just have to write on one of these threads to try and boost someone's confidence and get ripped to shreds 😉

bottleofbeer · 29/02/2020 23:56

Oh yeah! I DO like my collarbone Grin

bottleofbeer · 29/02/2020 23:58

Why do people get so arsed about another person's personal preference?

Meh, my personal preference is a nice person.

Notcontent · 29/02/2020 23:58

Size 14 and slightly overweight

Wereeaglesdare · 29/02/2020 23:59

Well good for you bottleofbeer cos fat bastard me doesn't have any but do u no what I'd fucking love some! That and a thigh gap but hey now I've probably offended some one else in this thread

GeorgianaD · 01/03/2020 00:00

16 to 18 I’d suspect.

bottleofbeer · 01/03/2020 00:15

Yeah but wereeaglesdare, do you have amazing buzzwams? Coz I ain't got any!

ActualHornist · 01/03/2020 00:15

The original picture you could be anything from a size 8-18 IMO. There’s no skin showing and before kids I had a flat stomach and no double chin even when overweight. If you’d shown your face I bet you have cheekbones and everything .

But then I read you’re the same height as me, also have three kids including twins and are about 10 stone. I am SUCH a fat bugger! (I mean literally, weighed myself today and I’m 16 stone Sad).

Dontsayyouloveme · 01/03/2020 00:19

God I’d love a flat tummy and hips like you! I’m a Typical apple shape, 12 everywhere except my tummy which is a 14! Hate it!

m0therofdragons · 01/03/2020 00:33

@ActualHornist I really posted to make the point that size/shape/how we carry our weight is different. I am happy with my figure (but still have moments when I'm insecure and I won't wear a bikini due to saggy tummy skin from twins - no amount of dieting will help that). People on here earlier in the thread told me I should lose about a stone - I don't need or want to. Don't be too hard on yourself - your weight isn't who you are and from your post you sound lovely. Being you is enough xx

@bottleofbeer do you know what they are holding up quite well after breast feeding for over a year. Not like the glory perky pink days. But I'm bloody proud of them that they have sustained my clingy monkey baby for so long.

I guess thats the beauty of having a baby is that you see your body in a different light and not always a negative. I have a C/S scar that I love because I touch it and think of the best day of my life. I've always hated my body but through having my child I love parts I never thought I could. Now to stop eating cake though if I could only beat that.
