You know that you see in you tube
Like sheds/caravans

Moose people do it for a certain amount of time

I could, but would need to leave Mr.Hoarder and his boxes of sh%te at home.

TinyPaws · 20/02/2020 17:31

Yes if it was just me and maybe the cat.

No way if my partner and the dog came too.

Whitney168 · 20/02/2020 17:31

I'd have to down-size my dog breed, but with some nice outside space it's actually quite appealing.

GoldenMarigolds · 20/02/2020 17:35

Edit button definitely required on this site. Don't think bad of me, I have had to explain some weird autocorrects myself!

Anyway, it all looks so lovely and tidy and a bit twee if you ask me, and I have to say I watch the YouTube videos now and then and become hooked for a while. But I don't think it would suit me. Need to get out to my large garden, and I have a lot of crap too which I am far too lazy to sort out either.

Oh and I would hate a bed in a room I could not stand up in, most of the bedrooms seem to be up in the eaves. Nope.

bluehighlighter · 20/02/2020 17:37

In my 30s, I rented somewhere much smaller than those. Obv, you need to get rid of most possessions.

MyKingdomForAName · 20/02/2020 17:37

On my own, yes. With DS (or anyone else), not a chance.

The first flat I bought was around 192sqft, so had it been an independent dwelling, move-able and a bit cuter-looking, it could be classed as a tiny house. I loved it. Perfectly adequate space for me on my own.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 20/02/2020 17:40

I do live in one. 2 bed 4 in a block 😂

dudsville · 20/02/2020 17:40

I could. I dream of a small easy to maintain place. But it would have to be far from others. Is this something you're being made to consider OP?

Nancydrawn · 20/02/2020 17:41

I hate ereaders and love books, so, no.

Gertie75 · 20/02/2020 17:41

I couldn't, we've got a touring caravan and although I love spending time there it makes me appreciate all the space and storage I have at home.

AyeCorona · 20/02/2020 17:42

@Lunde I could 100% live in that!

We've just downsized, went from a house with 3 bathrooms and a massive kitchen to 1 bathroom and a tiny kitchen. I can't believe the difference it makes. Cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms isn't a massive daunting task anymore. I love it.

jay55 · 20/02/2020 17:47

No, I'm a smelly fucker. Small space would be too pungent.

MurrayTheMonk · 20/02/2020 17:49

It's my stated intention to sell the house and move to a house boat once the kids have left home. I could do it no bother.
DP will struggle however as he is a hoarder. So he might not be able to come.

CountFosco · 20/02/2020 17:50

God no, they only work for solitary people who live in dryer, warmer climates than the UK. I want a big house so all my family can visit.

AtMyDesk · 20/02/2020 17:51

I know someone who lives in a tiny house - you have to be extremely organised and not hoard anything

BaolFan · 20/02/2020 17:53

DH and I lived in a studio flat which was 21m/sq when we first lived together and were saving for a deposit. Do-able but you have to be really ruthless with clutter and very creative with storage ideas.

I couldn't do it now as I like my space.

Carriecakes80 · 20/02/2020 17:54

Easily, we're in a tiny 2 bed house with 6 of us and space is so limited when both boys gf's are round and both dd's friends plus dog and cat! And before this I lived in a hostel which was one room with a sink and a bed, breeze blocks all round, one tiny window, and I managed that with a baby for three years, so I can manage happily anywhere lol. x

EnidButton · 20/02/2020 17:56

I'd like to live in one of those IKEA one bed apartments they have in store

Love those. Grin

I like the idea of it but only if it's a detached type building. Like on George's Tiny homes (?). Wouldn't like one of those tiny apartments in Hong Kong for example.

Lard which YouTube ones have you seen? Do I just put tiny house into the search bar? Would love to see some.

KundaliniRising · 20/02/2020 17:56

Boats are probably a better idea in the uk, what with all the rain and all....

EnidButton · 20/02/2020 17:57

but only if it's a detached type building.

Speaking completely hypothetically of course and assuming I'd have a choice.

haba · 20/02/2020 17:59

If it was just me and the DC, no question. DH .... no way!
@jay55 - I'm sure they have windows you can open Grin

Tell me more about moose people though...

Butterfly02 · 20/02/2020 18:03

@GreatAuntE320 Netflix have a series on tiny houses one actually had a grand piano in (he was a musician) seem to think they had two dc too.
I could do it on my own / with dd (whom is tidy) but not with ds's. Also the not being able to stand up in the bedroom spaces doesn't appeal.

bridgetreilly · 20/02/2020 18:03

Nope. I live in a very small house and while I love it, I would not be okay with halving or even quartering the available space. I think it's a LOT easier if you live in a warmer climate and can be outside a lot.

Snugglepumpkin · 20/02/2020 18:05

I would move into one today if I could.
It would have to have at least half of an acre of land & good wi-fi though.

Trumpspeach · 20/02/2020 18:07

I love the tiny house movement but notice that they all have loads of land available. They are also often situated in warmer climes so that being inside isn't so necessary.
I also worry that the tiny homes would become damp very easily.
