You know that you see in you tube
Like sheds/caravans

Moose people do it for a certain amount of time

Absolutely. I’ve often lived in very small spaces and loved it. I love the Tiny House program and getting some awesome ideas. Not sure if I’d do it in the UK or somewhere a bit warmer. A bit of land, eco friendly and I’ll be happy. And the bonus, no neighbours 🤣

I would do it now with the teen, but I prefer to do it alone. And before that I want to sail around the world, taking as long as I need, and visit some wonderful places that you can only get to by boat anyway lol.

Lily193 · 20/02/2020 16:53

I'd love to as long as there was lots of outside space.

I'm the same. I need land and lots of it. I can't bear the thought of anyone living too close to me.

MadeleineMaxwell · 20/02/2020 17:00

Absolutely not. I have things. And stuff. And then some possessions. And craft supplies. And a need for occasional solitude. And DH snores.

longtimelurkerhelen · 20/02/2020 17:00

I would love to live in one of those, especially if it had a lovely view and a bit of land.

I have not studied the moose peoples nesting habits, so not sure about them. Grin

Bluerussian · 20/02/2020 17:00

No, I have stayed in three mobile homes/caravans on holiday sites, one was particularly excellent, one very basic and one nice but furniture uncomfortable. That's more than a few years ago.

A holiday is one thing, especially if you have children but living in one? Absolutely not. They are quite flimsy, heating often goes wrong and when it is cold, you feel it in the 'van.

crumpledlinen · 20/02/2020 17:06

I'd like to live in one of those IKEA one bed apartments they have in store Smile

CremeEggThief · 20/02/2020 17:08

Yes, I think so.
I love staying in hotel rooms or mobile homes and only having essentials and having everything perfectly tidy and in order.

I hate stuff and am always trying to get rid of it.

speakout · 20/02/2020 17:08

No way.

All that instagrammification of "cute" tiny houses pisses me off.

Try having no option.

WhentheDealGoesDown · 20/02/2020 17:08

I think DH and I could if we decluttered a lot. We have a touring caravan and when we are on holiday you do get used to the size and it feels almost roomy but when it is just on the drive and I pop in there it seems tiny.

It would probably be a lot less stressful with less stuff.

WhereAreTheAdults · 20/02/2020 17:09

I did 10 months in a static in the garden whilst we renovated the house. Was a fair sized static - 3 (teeny) bedrooms, shower room, loo, corridor for a kitchen and a c10 x 12 seating/dining space. From what I recall it was 10 foot x 32 foot in all. Too wide for the drive initially (we had to knock down some wall to get it in).

Space wise was OK. It was just a bit grim - the "Build" statics are the really old ones that would no longer be allowed on trailer/holiday parks - so old fashioned, a bit sticky and grimy regardless of how much I scrubbed it. Cost us £800. and £1200 to get the fucker moved.

Noisy as fuck when it rained. Cold. Damp. An oven in the summer.

Have never been so glad to move out of anything in my life.

But not because of space so much...as it was just shit.

easythere · 20/02/2020 17:13

If I lived alone I think I could. I think some of the 'tiny houses' I've seen on YouTube and online look really cool.

MyShinyWhiteTeeth · 20/02/2020 17:14

My friend's parents sold their 5 bedroom house after their children grew up. They became missionaries and lived out of suitcases for several years. They came back to the UK and lived in their long-stay, fairly large 3 bedroom caravan (although they still had to stay elsewhere for 2 weeks every year when maintenance was done on the site).

Eventually the caravan needed replacing and instead of buying another one they bought a 3 bedroom house near their old village. I think they got sick of some of the other newer, more rowdier residents at the caravan site.

Their first house was cluttered, their caravan was cluttered, their last house is cluttered. They seem very happy.

Their only problem was having the whole family over at the same time when in the caravan. They would rent other nearby caravans or do reciprocal arrangements with other permanent residents. They also have several storage units but I think they have less now.

SapphireSeptember · 20/02/2020 17:14

I'd love one. Or a narrowboat (One of my colleagues lives in one of those.) All my stuff fits in one room anyway, so as long as I had decent storage I'd be fine. Smile

Some of them are beautiful and cosy, others are far too plain for my liking. As long as you have good insulation and a source of heat you'd be fine in the winter.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 20/02/2020 17:18

I'm to tidy enough - even if all I owned was one change of clothes, two books and a dog lrsd, I would mansgeto make a trailer look as though someone had thrown a grenade into it.

What can I say . . . . . it's a gift . . . . . Sad

lowlandLucky · 20/02/2020 17:20

I could as long as i had a barn to store my junk Grin

SchadenfreudePersonified · 20/02/2020 17:20

*dog lead,

*manage to

FUCK OFF , AUTOCORRECT, YOU VINDICTIVE BASTARD!!!!!!

MonnaLIza · 20/02/2020 17:22

Nevermind your original question, I spent ages thinking of how Moose People would look like.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 20/02/2020 17:23

I hate stuff and am always trying to get rid of it.

Same here.

But I can't . . . .

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 20/02/2020 17:25

Tried it. Didn’t like it. My antlers got in the way.

Greenglassteacup · 20/02/2020 17:25

Not with other people and not will all of my books

SchadenfreudePersonified · 20/02/2020 17:25

Book (and spaniels . . . ) my downfall . . . . .

Greenglassteacup · 20/02/2020 17:25

Will = with

Kpo58 · 20/02/2020 17:29

No I'd go insane. I already live in a small house and there is just no room for anything. I'd love the space to be able to work at home without the kids standing behind me or to be able to do an exercise video without bumping into the wall/sofa/dining table/etc.

Lunde · 20/02/2020 17:30

I quite like those cute little shepherd's huts - but not sure I would want to live in one during a storm!

If it was just me and my dogs and we had loads of outdoor space yes I would absolutely love it!
