Bob Dylan. My dad is obsessed, saw him lots in the early days. He, and I will be gutted when he dies.

Paul Wellor, same reason but for my partner

MeatLoaf. Love him, his music. I’ll be so sad when he dies..

Also,so sorry for your losses deny. I suffered a family bereavement recently,so I do understand your point, but I still sometimes wonder about the deaths of public personalities and the effects on the nation.
Wishing you peace.

Samtsirch · 20/02/2020 11:03

Eeny, not deny, sorry.

AndyMurraysCat · 20/02/2020 11:04

Simon Calder

yellowallpaper · 20/02/2020 11:04

@RethpoDad Bob Marley is already dead

Clawdy · 20/02/2020 11:05

The two Pauls - Simon and McCartney.

I dread turning my laptop on every morning and finding out The Queen has died. She has been the only constant in this country for most of our lives.

ACautionaryTale · 20/02/2020 11:08

The Queen

Not because I'll miss her or anything.

But because for my own sanity I will be forced to leave the country for a month whether its convenient or not.

The wall to wall after Diana died was bad enough.

BorneoBabe · 20/02/2020 11:09

I'm going to say Prince Philip, because it's going to be devastating for the Queen (even though he's super old and she knows it's coming). I think we'll likely see her decline after that.

Celebrity-wise, Betty White. She's the last remaining Golden Girl!

Sausagewrole · 20/02/2020 11:10

My dad adores bob Dylan’s music, it’s been a constant in his life. He saw him a few times live.

I don’t think it’s weird, or mawkish to think that when he dies my dad will be devastated.

Same with me and Meatloaf. I absolutely love his music, have done since I was a child. Seen him live a few times, adore his shows. Why wouldn’t I be sad when he dies?

I don't want to tempt fate ...

Have been in love with this guy since 1982 when I was 12, I cannot imagine him ever not being around .. Mark King Level 42, but he is still relatively young ... got me thinking though .. Bob the builder made me spit my tea out ... David Attenborough definitely, the Queen, I was overly upset when John Thaw died, but I do have ASD so I get attached in a weird way sometimes ... x

Lipperfromchipper · 20/02/2020 11:15

David Attenborough
And Tom hanks Sad I will be heartbroken

ineedaholidaynow · 20/02/2020 11:18

I think it will be quite unsettling after the Queen dies, it is like she has been a constant presence in most of our lives, even if you are not a royalist.

I will be sad when David Attenborough dies, even though I know he has had a good innings. He went to school with my DF so it will also be a link with him.

Terry Wogan was someone whose death hit me quite hard. I think again because he had been a constant presence throughout my life, and he also reminded me a bit of my DF.

Kalifa · 20/02/2020 11:29

None. They are not my family members or friends.

AdaFromYorkshire · 20/02/2020 11:30

David Attenborough. Can't think of anyone else.

FET2020 · 20/02/2020 11:33

David Attenborough...really? The man whose team fly all over the world moaning about environmental issues?

fudgesmummy · 20/02/2020 11:42

clowdy
Came on the say the same, especially Paul Simon.
I absolutely adore his music and will be very sad when he is gone

HakunaMatataa · 20/02/2020 11:43

David Attenborough Sad

WhatKatyDidNot · 20/02/2020 11:47

None. I dread my own death and the deaths of people I know and love. Not famous people!

I might shed a tear for David Attenborough. Just the one though.

Rockbird · 20/02/2020 11:47

People are absolutely entitled to feel how they want and if you're not bothered about deaths outside your circle then that's fine, of course. But can you not understand that for some people, these musicians or actors etc have been part of their life for decades. And for that person to be no more, creating no more of their particular art, will affect people? It certainly will me.

Don't get it, fine. But I'm sensing a little sneering in some of the responses.

TheOrangeFox · 20/02/2020 11:49

The Queen
David Attenborough
Patrick Stewart
Ian McKellen

TheOrangeFox · 20/02/2020 11:49

Ruther Bader Ginsberg and Lady Brenda Hale.

Nitpickpicnic · 20/02/2020 11:50

Too late, Alan Rickman. 🥺

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/02/2020 11:56

There are a lot of very elderly actors in The Archers. June Spencer is now nearly 101 and still apearing very regularly as Peggy Woolley. Patricia Greene who plays Jill must be not far off 90. The deaths of any of them will be a very sad occasion for me and millions of other listeners, as they've been such a constant feature of our lives for decades.

My husband will be hard hit by the death of any surviving member of Pink Floyd.

PrettyyGood · 20/02/2020 11:58

@borneobabe I'm pretty sure the Queen won't decline if Philip goes first. They don't actually get on. And that's a fact, not a speculation Smile

dottiedodah · 20/02/2020 12:00

Bob Dylan for me too .The man is awesome, seriously so ! Also really miss Bob Marley (died in 1982 )Rethpo Dad !
