Bob Dylan. My dad is obsessed, saw him lots in the early days. He, and I will be gutted when he dies.

Paul Wellor, same reason but for my partner

MeatLoaf. Love him, his music. I’ll be so sad when he dies..

Oh and Shane MacGowan - he's written some beautiful songs!

SirGawain · 20/02/2020 22:12

I feel a sadness and sympathy when someone that I like or respect dies, but I can't get so invested in people that I don't really know, that bI would be devastated>

Wobblywibblywoo · 20/02/2020 22:17

David Jason for sure.

thishouseisashittip · 20/02/2020 22:20

David Jason is going to be a bad one in our family, totally dreading it to be honest. My eldest daughter will be devastated especially. She was brought up watching him, only fools, Frost etc.

I have just asked this question to DH.

He thought for a sec and said 'Tom Hanks.'

Mrscaindingle · 20/02/2020 22:52

This is an odd thread especially as so many have thought about this. So many people saying David Jason Confused

I felt a bit like I had the wind knocked out of me when I heard about George Michael as he was such a part of my teenage years but cannot imagine dreading a celebrity dying.

PelicanPie · 20/02/2020 22:58

The Queen
David Attenborough
Paul McCartney
Michael Palin
Billy Connolly

PelicanPie · 20/02/2020 22:58

Oh and definitely Judi Dench
Maggie Smith

Starksforthewin · 21/02/2020 02:07

The Queen, obviously. Our country will irreversibly change . She is such an inspiration.

No one has yet mentioned Burt Bacharach. It will be a terribly sad day. Such a great talent, my parents loved him and I’ve inherited that love.

He is in incredible shape and I’ve seen him in concert in recent years but just starting to look frail now.

Bowie/Prince/George Michael dying knocked me for six, music is so important to me.

Kez200 · 21/02/2020 05:25

Queen.

I think her death will cause more ripples and change for us, whereas celebrities will just be really sad.

Comps83 · 21/02/2020 07:36

Dolly Parton

bohemia14 · 21/02/2020 08:18

I'm not dreading any famous person dying - I don't ever think about it.

I'm concerned at what will happen when the Queen dies; I'd like her to be around for a few more years as I believe our country needs stability at the moment. But I'm not dreading it.

Imok · 21/02/2020 08:38

I can't say I dread anyone famous dying - there are a few that would make me sad but the only people I 'dread' dying are members of my family and close friends. And even then, I accept that my mum and her generation are now getting on and so it's the natural order of things. If it was my children or their children, I would be truly devastated.

I think that although I'd be sad about the Queen, it's not as though she's a youngster so again, not unexpected. And at least with famous people, their work and name tends to live on.

eenymeenyminyme · 21/02/2020 09:40

Any of the Friends actors (MP will be first)

That sounds like you have a very sinister plan for him! Shock

cittigirl · 21/02/2020 17:29

David Attenborough

Lincolnfield · 21/02/2020 17:43

Having lost my mum, my dad, my oldest sister and my niece, frankly I couldn’t give a tinker’s cuss about the death of somebody I don’t know, have never met and who is just a name I’ll probably see on the news.

bluejeanjeannie · 21/02/2020 17:49

Oh please, give me a break. They are just people, apart from the Queen, who have worked hard and made a fortune and their name in life, not someone to worship, especially David Attenborough.

Without a huge amount of dedicated and professional people behind him he would never have got to where he is, they are ones we should be admiring. Also what about the huge eco damage all his programmes cause, let alone encouraging people to visit previously wonderful, natural and hidden parts of the world.

Sorry, you just hit my button on this one Sad

Lillyringlet · 21/02/2020 17:49

Mine happened. It was Terry pratchett and Whitney. While others will suck but pratchett hurt. Family called to check on me as they knew how important he was to me.

The Queen will suck because it will effect the country and everything so much.

Harls1969 · 21/02/2020 17:52

Definitely David Attenborough, David Jason, musicians from the early 80s (mostly because I'll feel really old when they start dying of old age!), Helen Mirren(although I suspect she's immortal!). But the one I'm dreading the most is Stephen King. My favourite author ever, not sure how I'll cope without a couple of books a year from him!

Babysharkdododododododododod · 21/02/2020 17:53

Any of the friends cast

....however I am still grieving over David Bowie

SecretsInSpitalfield · 21/02/2020 17:56

I am related to a very famous musician (over 70 male) and threw him have met celebs and sometimes the ‘real them’ against the ‘fantasy’ of them is sadly underwhelming (putting it politely)

I’ll be very upset when a tiny handful die but I’m still very upset about Caroline Flack. Extremely sweet, kind and likeable. Someone close to me went the same way and I can’t stop think of the very last moments 😢 it’s the tragedy and unfairness that eats me up. The despair and sadness.

I’m sure everyone (or most) will be SO upset when the Queen goes BUT she is nearly 100 and has had a great long long life.. sad but to be expected.

Caroline’s death wasn’t meant to be 😔
