Closed down or discontinued - what do you miss?

My local Oasis closed down before Christmas and I miss it so much! I've just been browsing their website and it's just not the same as seeing something on the hanger and thinking "ooh that's pretty!"
My favourite perfume and lipstick have been discontinued. I've been stockpiling thanks to ebay but they've been gone so long now I don't think I will get any more of either now. I won't look or smell the same soon Sad
What do you miss?
I fully expect this thread to be lots of people missing Woolworths and yes I still miss them too

@Albern I think marble bars are coming back..... I'd like Flyte bars to come back, like milky ways when they were tasty!

Putthebinsoutalan · 23/02/2020 22:02

Revlon flex shampoo

Beamur · 27/02/2020 22:38

To those people missing Tesco own brand Lincolnshire sausages - there is an alternative!
The vegetarian chef - appallingly named 'little willies' very close indeed.

MissGuernsey · 28/02/2020 00:38

The Pier

Laurence Corner - a vintage store near Euston Square Station.

Pacific Paradise by Escada.

No 7 Rumba lipstick

The Kitchen Reject Shop

Knickerbox shops - there were loads when I moved to London in the mid-nineties.

A chocolate bar called 'Nutty'.

MissGuernsey · 28/02/2020 00:45

Oh and and shop called 'Flip' on Long Acre in Covent Garden. Sold vintage American clothing.

Food for Thought - vegetarian restaurant on Neal Street in Covent Garden.

The 'Stockpot' restaurant on Old Compton Street - although I think the Chelsea branch still exists. I visited it a few years ago.

The Astoria nightclub on Charing Cross Road.

A small chain of vegetarian restaurants called Cranks. Homity Pie anybody?

I miss the London I knew in the nineties. Sad

ArriettyJones · 28/02/2020 00:50

Kookai & Kew clothing,

Vidal Sassoon almond-scent Shampoo
Swiss formula Keratin shampoo in the big bottles- both smelt divine.

Nat6999 · 28/02/2020 01:41

Richards Shop, Principals, Aldi Frozen cauliflower cheese, it had a hint of garlic & I have never found one that tasted as good. Proper Lucozade before Jamie Oliver wrecked most soft drinks, he should be strung up for how he has changed many favourites.

vampirethriller · 28/02/2020 06:41

@MissGuernsey there's a Cranks recipe book, I got mine on eBay, the 80s edition has the homity pie recipeSmile

I miss Live Colour foam dye, that came in a cup style container and you had to shake it. It was so easy.

Zisforstripyoss · 28/02/2020 09:14

Every time I find a perfect mascara, they discontinue it. Currently using a not up to standard imposter while I'm still on the hunt!

They also discontinued my best running shoes. It took a lot of trial & error & injury before I found some replacements!

Zisforstripyoss · 28/02/2020 09:19

See by Chloe perfume too, I loved that so much, didn't realise they were discontinuing it, otherwise I would have stocked up!

Kazzyhoward · 28/02/2020 09:23

C&A. Used to buy loads from them, suits for OH, ski wear for our winter holidays, underwear, T-shirts/jeans, etc etc.

I don't think I ever went and came out with nothing. Now I find it difficult to buy anything from alternatives such as M&S, Debenhams, Primark, etc. Either stupidly expensive or poor quality or inconsistent sizing.

When we had a short break in Berlin, we stumbled upon a C&A store - I was like a pig in muck - spent hundreds and nearly filled a suitcase. Good quality at sensible prices and the stuff actually fits!

Equimum · 28/02/2020 10:29

It went quite a while ago, but as student I loved the RedVeg veggie fast food chain. Nobody has come up with a mushroom burger that comes even close to theirs.

I also still miss the body shop watermelon sun protection facial stick. That was the smell of summer when I was younger.

Herocomplex · 28/02/2020 10:46

Yes Miss Guernsey me too. I still make Homity Pie!

chillyvagilly · 28/02/2020 11:35

Full sugar Irn Bru. Bring it back, I'll pay the extra bloomin sugar tax!!!

Bluebutterfly90 · 28/02/2020 11:37

Citrus polos. They used to have them in the vending machine at my school and they'd sell out immediately because they were so nice.

hazeyjane · 28/02/2020 11:38

Woolworths and Body Shop Vetivert perfume oil.

Shops- woolworths,miss selfridge,gap,dolcies shoe shop.

MyBlueMoonbeam · 28/02/2020 19:55

11% red wine - so hard to find anything that's under 13% these days & many are 14.5% - I hate the thick head feeling I get when I drink strong wine plus it sends me to sleep too which is OK at home but wouldn't be great if out for a meal for example 😬

Flidina · 28/02/2020 21:00

Kookai oui perfume and Avon rare rubies, both discontinued, hard to find and expensive

LHMBF · 28/02/2020 23:21

There were so many Avon perfumes I loved that have been discontinued

CountessAlexandrovna · 29/02/2020 02:12

Listerine original. God damn it, it has recently been discontinued. I am miffed.

MrsFruitcake · 29/02/2020 02:41

M&S jacket potato and butter crisps. They were amazing, I still look for them in the shop all these years on.

Virgin Vie crackle body spray and Sun Moon Stars perfume by Lagerfeld. You can get it on eBay but it's too expensive and probably won't smell the same.Angry

Jux · 29/02/2020 02:46
