Let me read your cards

I'm trying to justify owning 5 decks of tarot cards by actually learning to read them. It's turning out to be quite hard to learn without getting any practice (I'm not going to give my partner any more readings since the cards encouraged her to break up with me), so I thought I'd do some readings on here just for fun.

It'll be three cards: situation/action/outcome. I'd appreciate knowing if you felt it had any bearing or if it was a right load of twaddle.

Disclaimer: some people have astonishing powers of intuition. I don't, nor do I believe the future can be predicted, so please don't leave your partner/quit your job/run away and join the circus on the back of this. It's just for fun.

Not to get too serious, but some people are asking questions that seem a little deep for me with my magic 8 ball, so please all do take care. If you really need advice on the big stuff, or just someone to listen, there's probably someone a bit more qualified in your real life who you can reach out to. Fortune telling is all fun and games when you're in the right mindset, but if you're feeling down and it treads on your toes it can make you feel worse. That's the last thing I want to do!

With that said, I did a few more over breakfast. It's quite addictive!

Ooh, this is a more troubled one. The situation is one that hasn't gone as you expected and you feel let down and betrayed. It won't get better by itself; the longer you let it go on, the deeper it will cut. You need to look at it clearly, bravely and not be afraid of bringing it to a close even if that is painful. The relief will not be instantaneous, but being flexible and open to change will make you stronger.

This situation is one that you know is off somehow; even if it isn't something major, it just doesn't feel quite right and you're considering where to go with it. In order to really understand it, you need to put yourself in someone else's shoes and look at this situation from a completely different perspective. If you can't do that, then there's a danger you will never be able to see it clearly, and therefore miss your chance to make it right.

I was always drawn to the Tarot of the Cat People deck, but never bought it. Someone told me it's luckier if someone buys your first deck for you, and no-one did so I never tried it.

@WildUnknown, I'm thinking about it. There are so many decks out there. I looked at the Cat People deck just now and it doesn't have the same pull for me that it used to.

A friend of mine in uni had a deck and it piqued my interest.

I got a book by Arlene Tognetti which was really comprehensive and started there

I'd say, after more than 15 years, I am more intuitive than book learned, but the book learning helped.

The Rider Waite Deck is really the beginners deck as a lot of the learning resources are based off that

The Lumiere YouTube channel is a great space to learn more, I'd say as well, though she does actual readings, not learning to read.

Reading intuitively comes over time.
