Little Things About Yourself That Annoy You

I come into the house still wearing my prescription sunglasses & realise that I have left my ordinary glasses in the car nearly every time. Drives me crackers! Particularly annoying as our parking is a little walk away from the house. I always aim to put my car keys in the exact same place so I can easily find them but hardly ever do & have to hunt for them. I nearly always let a cup of tea go cold. I shout at DD way too often, despite vowing to walk away & not let her push my buttons.

I want to be tidy and thoughtful but my home is messy.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 16/02/2020 09:29

I can't do anything without a deadline, then I can work like a woman possessed.

Imposing my own fake deadlines doesn't work.

Also procrastinating.
I was supposed to get up at latest 7.30 today to a wash done before I go out. I'm still in bed knowing I can do it when I get back.

Getoffmylilo · 16/02/2020 09:33

Oh god, literally everything everyone's already said - except biscuits, I don't seem to notice them. I'm going to use 'But you don't eat biscuits' as some kind of positive affirmation the next time I've stayed up to late, lost things, convinced myself every text message is a declaration of hate, talked too much, rearranged the massive pile of paperwork that actually needs dealing with. Jaffa cakes are biscuit sized cakes so don't count.

ElephantsAlltheWayDown · 16/02/2020 10:35

I can't seem to make simple decisions. I've been trying to pick tile for the bathroom floor for nearly five years. I just can't choose! So many choices and I'm so worried I'll spend too much money and time having it put in and then hate it.

I have major budgeting issues. I'll be super careful for months and then get a bit of extra money and go on a spending spree. I can't seem to find a happy medium between being either a Scrooge-like penny pincher or a spendthrift and it causes me massive anxiety.

ElephantsAlltheWayDown · 16/02/2020 10:38

Also I can't seem to quit smoking and stay quit (guess this is a big thing rather than a little thing). I'll quit for a few months or even years and then one day I'll just go buy a pack of cigarettes. I'm embarrassed that I'm a smoker, especially now that I have kids because I worry people will think that I smoked while I was pregnant (I didn't but I totally understand how hard it is to quit while pregnant!).

  1. Born worrier. Though it has got better as I’ve aged(now48)
  2. Impatient. Again it has improved with age, being a parent and working with children.
lilgreen · 16/02/2020 10:40

@Getoffmylilo me too! You can all eat my share of the biscuits.

lilgreen · 16/02/2020 10:44

@tobee that’s so funny and self deprecating. I’m chatty too. People mistake it for confidence but it’s my way of dealing with nerves.

lilgreen · 16/02/2020 10:45

There you go, 4 posts on the bounce!

JenNtonic · 16/02/2020 11:43

@Graphista You're so funny and cute, you can ring me anytime 😁🏆❤️⭐️xx

I'm always trying to lose weight.....40 years I've been trying.it's wearing me down now. I'm so over it at 53.

Lllot5 · 16/02/2020 13:58

I need to stop talking to myself, I keep getting funny looks when I’m out and about, then I realise why.

SecretWitch · 16/02/2020 14:05

I am a late night Amazon shopper. I promise myself to stay away and then get distracted by something nice and shiny. I am a magpie.

Spied · 16/02/2020 14:09

I live with anxiety issues and have a huge need to feel in control and be organised.

The worst thing about me is my laziness. Not sure if it’s because I’m depressed or just inherently lazy. I like a clean and tidy house but it’s rarely that way because it takes too much effort on my part! 🙄 I like food that’s bad for me too much (carbs) and it’s my vice in life - I don’t drink, smoke or take drugs but I eat too much. Then I’m too lazy to lose the weight I pile on because of it (even though it makes me miserable). I have low self esteem too so it’s just a vicious circle. 😢

Graphista · 16/02/2020 15:02

@JenNtonic aw thanks you’re so sweet.

I’m bad for not calling people because the people I can call know all my shit (I have severe ocd and agoraphobia) and worry about me and that’s what they then try to talk about with me. I just want to talk about other stuff as a distraction. I’m thinking about the other stuff all the time anyway!

Mum can be good to chat to and says I make her laugh (she doesn’t have it easy either) but she is very busy caring for dad and isn’t in the best of health herself and I’m quite a night owl so she’s often asleep when I fancy a chat.

It’s why I love mn - a virtual blether available at any hour!

handslikecowstits · 16/02/2020 15:41

I am too sensitive and feel what others are feeling. If someone is happy, I'm happy. If someone is stressed, I'm stressed etc. Drives me potty.

There are lots of others but...

thenewaveragebear1983 · 16/02/2020 15:42

I'm messy. I am trying to be less so, but since being at school I've been the one with ink on my hands, food on my top, paint in my hair. I would love to be naturally tidy, it would save me hours.

Graphista · 16/02/2020 22:53

Done it again! Bored the poor Sainsbury’s delivery guy blathering on about the storm in 1987 (he was born in the 80's! Ffs!)

To add to my embarrassment didn't realise till he'd gone I had the radio on (normally mute for delivery) and I had absolute 80's on and bloody bros! We're playing I don't even like sodding bros Blush

I need help!

Givemewineandlotsofit · 16/02/2020 22:59

I always promise myself an early night... And never do

tobee · 16/02/2020 23:17

@lilgreen lol!

Summery1 · 17/02/2020 00:11

I worry too much. My head goes round and round.

Confrontation of any sort, any sort, completely flattens me. I spend the next few days wishing I could have avoided it. Racking my brain about what I said or did wrong.

And I stay up too late as well.

TheNestedIf · 17/02/2020 00:37

Having butterfingers. My hands are the complete polar opposite of Spiderman's hands.

Also bad, in combination with the above, is having a test-pilot's reaction time. I often drop something and instinctively catch it on the way down. Great when it's something that might make a mess. Not so great when it's a knife. And if I do miss, whatever it is, it is absolutely guaranteed to land on my foot.

And I can, and do, trip over absolutely nothing at all.
