What are you doing over half term as a family?

Not much. Will head out to English heritage places a couple of times I expect, DD has a gym workshop booked, will see my family. Keep the log burner going!

LoonyLunaLoo · 11/02/2020 21:15

Not really family as DH is working but Me and DS (10) will be going to see the new Sonic movie with friends (thanks Meerkat Movies), going for a Premier Inn breakfast and climbing with friends, going ice skating, swimming and seeing my mum and going skiing (me) or snowboarding (DS) at Chill factor as I desperately need some confidence for our holiday at Easter.

LoonyLunaLoo · 11/02/2020 21:17

@troppibambini you’re brave! I’ve been in Lytham today and it’s been awful!

HairyToity · 11/02/2020 21:30

DH will be working, I will take DC to a National Trust property one day, local library another day, shops, grandparents. Just lots of little outings. DC are 2 and 7, a big day out is hard work.

mamaduckbone · 11/02/2020 21:30

Visiting dh's family in Suffolk - hoping for beach walks and other wholesome outdoorsy things but might not be the weather for it. It'll be nice to get the teenager away from mates and PS4 for some family time, whatever we do.

Episcomama · 11/02/2020 21:31

Glamping in Zion National Park.

MirandaWest · 11/02/2020 21:33

DH is teaching in Reading.

DD is going to Oxford to do a theatre workshop

DS is going to Seville with XH

I am staying here with the cat and working. And driving down to oxford to pick up DD on Friday

brightbluesky · 11/02/2020 22:12

Park and picnic has been promised. Her favourite thing ever!

We have one play date arranged.

Haircut and dentist one day, and soft play afterwards.

One day of playscheme so I can have a hair cut and manicure in peace.

One day of no plans.

Its just nice not to have to both be out the house at 8!

She is five and I work term time only in a pastoral role.

septemberismyfavouritemonth · 11/02/2020 22:13

Working. DS at holiday club. Taken Monday off, no plans yet.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 11/02/2020 23:28

Five- I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you have a nice time.

elliejjtiny · 12/02/2020 01:18

Monday dc2 and dc3 are doing tree climbing, Tuesday nothing planned, Wednesday dc2 and dc3 are doing bushcraft, Thursday NT day out, Friday sports club.

Onesailwait · 12/02/2020 01:43

We have spring break coming up in march (Canada). We are going to Vancouver for 3 days. Aquarium for my shark obsessed 6yr old, science world for my 13yr old. Then heading to north Van for Capillano suspension bridge and a trip up grouse mountain by cable car. I am really bad with heights but I'm going to be brave and my kids will love it.

SkiingIsHeaven · 12/02/2020 02:03

Skiing. Yippee!

Greenbutterlfy566 · 12/02/2020 08:48

Anyone been to the snowdome in Tamworth?

Waxonwaxoff0 · 12/02/2020 09:09

Not much unfortunately. I'm a single parent and have to work this half term. DS has a class mate's birthday party and I'm taking him to Kaspas desserts for a treat.

He is spending the half term with his dad and a couple of my family members so I know he will have fun and be spoilt with them.

happytoday73 · 12/02/2020 09:14

For the first time we are using Feb half term for a family holiday... Currently sat on a beach while kids play in waterpark... Its lovely and a bargain as we are off this week not next.
They normally go to holiday club as prefer to save my holiday for when a chance of better weather...

Stravapalava · 12/02/2020 09:18

We have plans to go to Scotland, however, looking at the weather forecast, I'm not so sure now.

If not, then it'll be swimming, walks round the local country parks, national trust, trampoline park, cinema, soft play, maybe a playdate, depending on who's around!

BiddyPop · 12/02/2020 09:21

Dd is doing a hockey camp in her school for 2 days, and we’re going to London for 3 days (where she will do another 1 day camp specifically for keepers! I’m having a free day as DH will work from the sidelines as it’s a bit out of town). Back home late Saturday night means we have Sunday to get organised again.

namechangenumber2 · 12/02/2020 09:31

We're going away for a few days. DS is in yr 11 and in the midst of revising for his GCSE's so felt we all needed a break. Weather will likely be rubbish but we'll take the dog for walks along the beach etc then back to the cottage to eat junk and play board games Grin

I just feel like we need a break!

Greenbutterlfy566 · 12/02/2020 10:14

Happy- ohh where are you?Grin

Parker231 · 12/02/2020 11:12

Annual ski trip - can’t wait!

onlyoneoftheregimentinstep · 12/02/2020 11:19

We're being taken away for a long weekend in the countryside by our three DC and our DGC for my DH's big birthday. Very grateful to have DCs, and particularly their partners, who really enjoy all spending time together.
