I realised last year I was just listening to the same things over and over and really wanted to expand my horizons a bit.

Stuff I like is fairly mainstream but I also like Indie and Folk

Been listening to a lot of :

Taylor Swift, Lizzo, Billie Elish type thing

Only really not into heavy/death metal and punk, otherwise like all music

Other than that listen to anything, what album is your go to that you could listen to again and again?

It's so easily done, to get in a rut as I don't listen to the radio much these days and so just go back to faithfuls

Must be getting old BlushWink

If you like Regina Spektor have a listen to Ben Folds.

Binting · 11/02/2020 23:07

I must admit there aren't many albums by single artists that I can listen to the whole way through, but any of Beth Orton's are definitely up there, others are:
Bonnie Prince Billy - I see a darkness
The Be Good Tanyas - Blue Horse
Dirty Vegas - Dirty Vegas
Everything But The Girl - Eden
Jesse Malin - fine art of self destruction
Lamb - What Sound
Neil Young - Unplugged
Richard Ashcroft - Alone with everybody
Tom McRae - Just like blood

I also never get bored of Queens of the Stone Age and Slipknot, but won't bother recommending any of their albums Wink

Oh, and Alabama Shakes

Geoffreythecat · 11/02/2020 23:20

Oh sorry OP, no I don't think he has. Have you ever listened to any Nizlopi stuff? They're known for their JCB song obviously, but some of their other stuff is beautiful.

rosegoldwatcher · 11/02/2020 23:21

I am old and don't like much mainstream music. I prefer listening to female vocalists (and singing along badly!)
Two of my favourite albums are
Imogen Heap - Speak for Yourself
and
The Cocteau Twins - Treasure

BlossomCat · 11/02/2020 23:35

I'm currently loving Angel Olsen's new album All Mirrors.

I'm going to go through this thread tomorrow for new things to listen to, thank you for starting it!

PrettyyGood · 11/02/2020 23:41

David Gates - Songbook (lazy Sunday morning listening)

spiderlight · 12/02/2020 11:31

Absolutely anything by Thea Gilmore. I can listen to her for hours. Her new Album (Small World Turning) is amazing, but my favourite album of hers is probably Liejacker. Have a listen to this gorgeous song from it: . Some of her stuff's more upbeat though.

Freya Riding's new album is good as well, and I second the recommendation for Amy Wadge.

beguilingeyes · 12/02/2020 11:33

I came here to say Rumours but have been beaten to it :)

Moondance by Van Morrison

Songs or One Tree Less by Judie Tzuke. She's an incredible singer/sonwriter with avast back catalogue.

Blackie and The Rodeo Kings - B.A.R.K Cnadian root/folk/country trio who are fantastic

Janis ian, Sarah McLachlan, Jann Arden, The Dunwells
