I realised last year I was just listening to the same things over and over and really wanted to expand my horizons a bit.

Stuff I like is fairly mainstream but I also like Indie and Folk

Been listening to a lot of :

Taylor Swift, Lizzo, Billie Elish type thing

Only really not into heavy/death metal and punk, otherwise like all music

Other than that listen to anything, what album is your go to that you could listen to again and again?

Kate Rusby is great, it's a crime her music isn't more widely played.

TheBitterBoy · 11/02/2020 21:08

Other suggestions - Fleet Foxes - their first album is beautiful, and as a hardened Crowded House fan Neil Finn's solo work is lovely

FritataPatate · 11/02/2020 21:10

Kacey Musgraves: "Golden Hour"

Menaimum · 11/02/2020 21:14

New to me, (recommended by some friends who are always listening to new stuff), but getting heavy rotation in the car Mattiel: Satis Factory

DisaronnoConnoisseur · 11/02/2020 21:20

Any one of Passengers albums, love his voice.

weebarra · 11/02/2020 22:01

Love Mattiel

AlCalavicci · 11/02/2020 22:05

I have a really wide tast in music but like you @EineReiseDurchDieZeit I don't like death metal/ thrash.
I have been listening Image Dragons album Evolve, particualy the track Thunder.

I also like Decon Blue and for quieter moments Dire Straits album On Every Street

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 11/02/2020 22:10

Love 1975 and Imagine Dragons

I'm so made up with this thread

Can I recommend Kina Grannis to everyone who likes folk?

Not sure if anyone already mentioned but Beth Orton - central reservation. Also Bernard butler - people move on. Two of my faves from the 90’s.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 11/02/2020 22:16

@ShesGotBetteDavisEyes

Beth Orton's Central Reservation is one of my favourite albums EVER. In fact, I've not listened to it in ages, I'll have to stick it on

LadyGAgain · 11/02/2020 22:17

Forgiven not forgotten - The Corrs first album

JenaWren · 11/02/2020 22:19

Try the DMA's. Gorgeous sound.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 11/02/2020 22:20

🎶Going down Central Reservation, last night's Red Dress, and I can still smell you on my fingers and taste you on my breath,🎶

Ooh, I’m well gonna have a dancing round the kitchen day tomorrow (will help me get through sorting my disgusting cupboards out!)

LadyGAgain · 11/02/2020 22:28

Ahhh they're great aren't they!!

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 11/02/2020 22:32

Cat Power - The Greatest (not greatest hits) and The Wanderer. Sort of Indie rock/folk

Macy Gray - On How Life Is

Beatles - Revolver

Stevie Wonder - Innervisions

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 11/02/2020 22:35

I think they featured Cat Power on Juno and I really liked the song it was Sea Of Love

Astral Weeks. I was driving back after a visit to a friend and s/he gave me this album to play on the way and I'm not home yet!

pumpkinpie01 · 11/02/2020 22:59

Just placemarking to read through tomorrow, I'm stuck in a music rut , Alexa must be fed up of me repeating myself.

neomneomneom · 11/02/2020 23:00
