If you are lesbian... what constitutes losing your virginity

I’ll begin by saying I really don’t want to cause offence to anyone and am probably going to show my ignorance but this was born from a random thought and I can’t get my head round it. Sorry if it’s crude.

So. A Virgin is someone that hasn’t had intercourse. Right? I think? Penis in vagina.

Obviously a woman who has only ever had female partners has never had “this”... does this mean that she’s a Virgin despite being in a sexual relationship? Or does penetration count as sex and therefore mean the woman is not a Virgin. But then if you had a man and a woman who did similar things, would they not be virgins anymore? Or would the woman not be as she’s been penetrated but the man is as his penis has been kept in his pants?

I genuinely can’t think of the answer. Am I missing something? Being thick?

Fwiw my mum has been in a same sex marriage for 10 years, but was married to my dad before this... but (probably rightly so) I can’t ask her what she thinks.

Sorry x 100000000 if I’ve offended anyone, was just genuinely curious

Lesbian sex is not what you see in porn most of the time. Or read about. never "banal"

sunshinesupermum · 08/02/2020 19:02

Losing your virginity = breaking of the hymen, often meaning a small loss of blood.

MoonlightMistletoe · 08/02/2020 19:14

Popping the "cherry" eugh vile.

I guess it would be when penetration happens and the hymen is broken. So having sex with toys or fingers etc.

Some really interesting view points here. Glad I asked, I really think it’s one of those questions that there will never be a right or wrong answer. Apart from the poster said who said I wasn’t allowed to ask because I’m not a lesbian 🤨😂

I had to look up scissoring/Tribbing. I don't get it. Rubbing my bits against other bits really doesn't seen very arousing. I can't imagine getting the sort of action/friction I enjoy through oral/toys. It seems like it is a bit benign and banal.

I’ve been debating the whole virginity thing as
the first person I did anything with was a girl (long time happily married to a man now). I’d actually consider ‘scissoring/tribbing’ to be the point I lost
my virginity, the rest was just oral/fingering. It felt like ‘having sex’. Although if you’d asked me
at the time, I think I’d have said it didn’t count.

also… totally the best bit of FF sex for me. The sensations are incredible, it’s really intimate.

‘also… totally the best bit of FF sex for me. The sensations are incredible, it’s really intimate.’

I’ve always considered myself totally heterosexual but the way you describe that makes me curious actually.

MissyScott · 18/02/2023 17:33

urmum2022 · 04/12/2023 13:39

😮

KelliGrrl · 17/11/2024 07:24

I suppose "technically" I am a virgin being a gold-star lesbian if you define losing your virginity as being penetrated by a man.

However I've been penetrated by toys wielded by other women countless times so I wouldn't consider myself one.

Biancadelrioisback · 08/02/2020 15:56

For me personally, I consider losing my virginity as the first time I did anything other than a kiss and some over the clothes groping with someone I cared about at the time.

Good grief
Please don't tell children this constitiues losing one's viginity

Wielded 😁

Reminds me of the thread the other week when someone loudly proclaimed "Behold, Excalibur!"

Great question op. Been wondering occasionally this since I was a teen. I'd probably run with the technical piv.

Well some of us myself included, never had a "cherry" to
"pop". If I did, it was broken long before I became sexually active, probably with either a tampon, or during athletic activities at a prepubescent girl. It's totally possible that I broke it with a tampon but I'm not really sure how to tell since there was always blood everywhere. By the time I inserted a toy in there it was long gone if it ever existed. That said, not all girls have hymens. I definitely played with other girls before I used a toy on myself but I nor any of my partners ever noticed any kind of obstruction to speak of, other than them noting that it was very difficult to fit more than 2 digits inside of me..
