The Robbing Butcher - Bemused by the Patio at FrogMhor Cottage

TheMustressMhor · 08/02/2020 10:58

What next for the Robbing Butcher?

Will he wander past Mhor Cottage several times a day so that he can keep an eye on the progress of the patio?

Will Mr. Mhor's measurements turn out to be wrong? And will Mustress Mhor and her DH have too many SLABS as a result?

If they do, what will they do with them?

Will the eggs be dippy tomorrow?

Oh yes a tasks to do list. Fab idea. Allows me to procrastinate further (along with MN) to delay housework

Trimming hedge and a beehive knob .... Grin Grin Grin

DivinationDandy · 16/02/2020 12:57

Cutting are you being norty?

TheMustressMhor · 16/02/2020 12:59

Cutting I have to say that I was thrilled to see you mentioning broccoli and cauliflower cheese. My favourite.

Mr. Mhor is dead against cheese sauce with broccoli. Hmm

Cuttingthegrass · 16/02/2020 13:02

Mhor I would still make for myself. However I don’t think I would have continued a relationship if MrCutting didn’t condone this delicacy

Hmmm continue MN, hoover or wash the floor or a tasks list 🤔

TheMustressMhor · 16/02/2020 13:06

That’s a fabulous list, Mustress!

Mr Worfs just cleaned the kitchen without me having to ask (!!!)

7Worfs · 16/02/2020 13:15

Cutting just continue MN. I’ve mentioned before but I have a dedicated weekly slot for hoovering, I can’t just start doing it on the spur of the moment! Grin

Joking aside, my current calendar is the best yet - Emma Bridgwater from John Lewis - I highly recommend.

If you were a family of 6, each of you would have their own daily slot for tasks. As it happens at home, all six are mine. Angry

ilovejeffgoldblum · 16/02/2020 13:16

Good idea! , sleeping bag ... loft!
Mr Jeff just said , are you going to clean out the budgies before they die?
Clearly only I am capable!

ilovejeffgoldblum · 16/02/2020 13:17

Is it too early for wine? Hmm

7Worfs · 16/02/2020 13:19

Oh Jeff I commiserate. Our competence is such a burden sometimes!

TheMustressMhor · 16/02/2020 13:22

Is it too early for wine?

Absolutely not, jeff.

It is NEVER too early for wine. Wine helps you thrive (is that ok to say?)

Mr Yolo got up too late to make chicken casserole so we are just doing a roast instead - which seems to take equally long?

We have music on loud in the kitchen, unfortunately he's put it on some random playlist. We've just gone from FooFighters to Genesis which is a bit of a switch really. Previously straight from Adele to David Gray to Beautiful South which was somehow easier to cope with.

Prompted a discussion about "which music era did you miss out on?" For us it seems to have been acid house and hip hop and grunge.

Cuttingthegrass · 16/02/2020 14:12

Oh I love random conversations in the kitchen with Alexa playing different playlists. Oh not conversations with Alexa that would be weird lol

Have procrastinated and not hoovered or washed floor. Wine is good idea. Thank you all.

Cuttingthegrass · 16/02/2020 14:14

Mhor is your task list copyrighted? Or can I adopt it please. It’s perfect

7Worfs · 16/02/2020 14:15

I was a grunge teen, but have always been partial to classic rock and some heavy metal (yes to Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Megadeth, HARD PASS to Metallica).

I was too old for the emo stuff and nu metal, thank God.

Cuttingthegrass · 16/02/2020 14:25

I was madness and new age.

I now have an electic.... that’s spelt wrong but I have mind blank... wide ranging.... I still struggle with opera though.

DP has gone to help my parents with difficult job.... I chose to stay here and do the housework yadda yadda but have only MN and now drinking wine Blush

yolofish · 16/02/2020 14:34

I like to think we are pretty eclectic even if old (late 50s) but I cannot cope with yer original rap - a little bit mixed in a la Ed Sheeran is enough for me. Strickland Banks, I liked that first album a lot but probs wasnt even rap?

We are still on Genesis, which reminds me why I wasnt a fan first time round...

cutting Carmen is the only opera I can cope with, and Carmen Jones is even better! (DD1 managed to get concussion at a performance of CJ - don't ask...)

ooh we're onto Hozier now, that's better.

ilovejeffgoldblum · 16/02/2020 14:50

I like a bit of everything, in reason , I loved elo ( electric light orchestra) growing up and also Sam Cooke and the drifters . As a teen I liked pop , now I listen to all that and new stuff too!
Cooking and music with wine is great!

Cuttingthegrass · 16/02/2020 14:53

Yolo .... yes that’s how it’s spelt... I feel very thick now. Off to hoover. Have tidied.

I am now intrigued about the events at that concert... you must (pretty please) share. Will check back after hoovering.... only doing upstairs

yolofish · 16/02/2020 16:39

cutting with hindsight, it was bad planning and a really long day.

Kids were doing opera at school (some sort of outreach with the ROH to state primaries). So we went to Lunnon for the day, had lunch, did the Imperial War Museum and then to Royal Festival Hall for Carmen Jones. It wasnt full, so at the interval we moved round to the seats on the side, where upon DD1 leant forward for a better look and headbutted the barrier - nosebleed, blood everywhere, she went a bit woozy. Probs wasnt actually concussion to be fair. But dramatic. Had to take two blood soaked children home on the train, as DD1 managed to spread blood everywhere...

SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/02/2020 17:50

Consider knobs is something I would be interested in doing

Moi aussi!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/02/2020 17:52

I’ve mentioned before but I have a dedicated weekly slot for hoovering, I can’t just start doing it on the spur of the moment!

Very wise Worfs - it would disrupt your biorhythms.

7Worfs · 16/02/2020 18:10

Schaden Grin

The spaghetti were good. Next weekend Mr Worfs will try his hand at lasagne.
