I was obsessed with Buffy when I was younger, especially Giles. I used to tell my dad I would marry ASH one day, don’t know what it was about him. I am 30 now and just watched ‘the stranger’ on Netflix and all those old celebrity crush feelings came rushing back Grin
He’s so charismatic, I love watching interviews with him. Every time I read those celeb meeting threads people always say he’s lovely too.
Just thought I would share my appreciation for him in the hope I am not alone!

You are so not alone, he was my massive crush aged 13 when Buffy came out. Have you seen the video of him in the Rocky Horror Show?

I adored him in Buffy! My friend sort of knows his wife through work so he's been to her house!! She got him to sign a birthday card for me Grin Blush

Oh I love these threads. If it’s not too early in the day there should be a number of people along soon with lovely stories of meeting him. He’s supposed to be the nicest.

He plays Uther in Merlin for about 3 seasons and is a bit evil. Love it in Buffy when 'Ripper' shows up

Way back there was a thread on here about people's experience of meeting slebs and what they were like. There was an extraordinary number who'd met ASH, and universally they said he was lovely.

Sadly I've never managed it.

I have worked with him - he is absolutely delightful and we all still have had a massive crush on him. Genuinely lovely.

Oh phew! I clicked on the thread worried that something had happened to him or that there had been some kind of scandal or something!

He is fab. Loved him in Buffy, saw him on stage as the pirate king in the Pirates of Penzance, and love him as Herc in Cabin Pressure!

I met him once and he was unbelievably lovely. Toddler DD had just started walking and had got a few steps ahead of me when she fell over a person standing clearly in front of her - I couldnt catch her in time. It was ASH filming merlin so in full armour. He picked DD up and set her on her feet again, told her she was doing brilliantly and to keep practising and told me she was very beautiful (it's true :-)).

He would have been perfectly justified in being a bit cross about it but he was just lovely. Dd is now a teenager and watches buffy... she likes spike, but Giles is very cool...

He was my first ever Live Frank and he's in my top two even now (only beaten by David Bedella).

So glad it’s not just me, I love him in all roles- good guy, ripper, bad sleaze and coffee man. I long to casually bump into him. I live in London, is he around this way??

he lives near Bath I believe. He was on a podcast i listen to recently and discussed eating in the Ivy in Bath so maybe start your hunt there or in the pubs near by?

I rewatching Buffy (again!) and I love him so much.

I've always maintained that the bit where he challenges Evil Willow with "I'd like to test that theory" is the most badass TV moment Grin it gives me goosebumps!

Interesting... my DB is studying at Bath university, maybe he’s due a visit from me. I don’t know when it boarders stalking though, going out of my way to travel the best part of three hours in the hope I bump into him 😫

On another note I watched his daughter in some teen drama a couple of years ago and she was pretty good too.

@amusedbush YES!!!!! Uh-oh Daddy’s home!

Actually my favourite Giles scenes are the ones following his huge betrayal of Buffy when he is drugging her. That episode gets me sobbing every time.
