M&S Chilli Cheese hot cross buns

Oh god. They’re awesome.

I bought a pack at 5pm yesterday. I’ve just eaten the last one. Slightly warmed with cream cheese in (currently mourning the roasted pepper one Philadelphia used to do, that would be amazing in them) and maybe a slice of salami

Consider this a PSA...buy them!!

They are amazing. I bought some along with the salted caramel and chocolate ones. There all gone and I'm looking for an excuse to go back for more

@Madcats - and anyone else for that matter - DON'T put them in the toaster. I made that mistake once and blew the toaster. Having said that it was a 'traditional' hot cross bun and a sultana got stuck on the element. Annoyingly, it was a fairly new Russell Hobbs 😠

I just got two packs and might have to get more to stick in the freezer. They are bloody gorgeous - I've had two (three halves toasted with butter and one half just with butter) already and will have to show serious will-power to leave the rest of the pack alone today.

I can report that the big M&S in York has them. Tucked away on the bottom shelf, clearly a bit avant garde for the denizens of York (I was born here so am allowed to say that )

I've been doing mine in the toaster. There's no loose bits like fruit, so nothing to fall off and make toaster explosions.

2 M&S didn’t have them! They’d sold out! What have I done!!

Haha! I really shouldn't be on this thread because I'm on a mainly permanent strict diet, and I cannot afford to be swayed! I'm saving up my treat for doughnuts 😋

They're ok. Not amazing. Oh well.

Yes - that is my assessment too. I'll get them again if they are reduced.

Tried one. Thought it was a mouthful of claggy nastiness. Binned it.

Verdict : bit too much chilli, not quite enough cheese, bit claggy untoasted, better toasted. 3/5
