M&S Chilli Cheese hot cross buns

Oh god. They’re awesome.

I bought a pack at 5pm yesterday. I’ve just eaten the last one. Slightly warmed with cream cheese in (currently mourning the roasted pepper one Philadelphia used to do, that would be amazing in them) and maybe a slice of salami

Nooo! You inspired me so I just popped across the road to M&S in my lunchbreak and they're sold out! I'm gutted.

I had these at the weekend... fucking amazing!! DH had cooked some bacon and i thought ooh that''ll be good in one, then DD ate it all before i got some!!!

Are they the same as the chilli cheese bread the Co-op does all year round?

I saw these at the till last week and already had far too much to carry, so I didn't get them, but I made a mental note to go back.

Clearly I should have lashed my work laptop in a bin to free up space, and filled my bag with them. Goddammit.

They are fabulous. Ate them as they come. Hoping to get more. They were only £1 last Friday too which was even better.

I do not understand them. Are they chilli AND cheese or cheese flavoured with chilli? And where is the chilli / cheese combo? In the bun? On top?

What bit of them is hot cross bun like? Are they not just cheesy rolls?

are they not just cheesy rolls I am personally offended by that and I’ll tell you why, At first glance, they look like a speckled cheesy roll, they’re not cheesy roll size though, They’re hot cross bun size, not too big, frankly a bit too small. They’re squishy, a quick fondle (because you don’t want to squeeze them) will liken them to a soft, perfectly cooked bap. But they’re so much more.

Beautifully golden with flecks of red and brown, a beautiful cheesy cross on top. A bite of them is an explosion in your mouth, caramelised onion, a kick from the chilli and a subtle cheese flavour. It’s the most glorious thing you’ll have put in your mouth, your tastebuds are crying out for more so you take another bite...With that second bite, you’ll want nothing more then to walk, nay run, to your nearest M&S to stock up because you know from this moment on, nothing will ever be the same again without them in your life

I've just eaten my first one. OMFG.

I was going to make a Greek salad but I'm having a second one instead.

These had better not end up in the Mumsnet Swears By email because I will go apeshit if they sell out.

I have a day off work tomorrow so I can pop into M&S and look for them.
If they are as good as you make out I might need to empty the freezer and stock up for the next few months.
