Do you have time to talk about our lord and saviour, Jurgen Klopp?

I'm running out of words to describe this liverpool team. I've waited my whole life to see them win the league, and we're going to do it in spectacular fashion. Anyone want to join me? Wine

Klop has (rightly) been banging on about the lack of a winter break and about how more and more games are piled into successful clubs (world team cup, super cup).

He would be a hypocrite if he didn't respect the winter break that he's been lobbying for for four years.

Anyway, who cares? We are 22 (twentytwo!!) Point in the lead. We've drawn one and lost 0 (none) this season.

Don't recall too many slating us when the kids beat Everton.

If we can beat Everton with that team, we can beat Shrewsbury. And if we don't beat them, meh. Liverpool supporters will not care.

I love him. I support another premier team but think he's gone a great job at Liverpool and he seems like a nice bloke all round.

woulddoJu · 02/02/2020 23:23

Me too @OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow

screamer1 · 02/02/2020 23:30

Liverpool for the league and leeds for promotion and there'll be mayhem round ours

Arseit · 02/02/2020 23:34

I echo what @SwedishEdith said.

RubyViolet · 02/02/2020 23:42

Making plans to get to Liverpool for the bus celebration too ! Was extremely lucky to go to Madrid for the Champions League Final last June. Still pinching myself !
I love just love him for what he’s doing, and have the tiniest twinge of anxiety that he will be gone in 4 years. Won’t begrudge him because he has brought total joy to us Reds.
Let’s hope the next 4 years are a true new golden age, the team deserve it, Klopp deserves it. And then after that .....we go again !!

Hippopotas · 02/02/2020 23:52

I’m a Leicester supporter but I think Juergen Klopp is hilarious in interviews.

bottlenose301 · 02/02/2020 23:53

Im so excited about this Liverpool team! I remember our last title win as a kid when I was obsessed by john Barnes.

We won the CL last year as well.

In all honesty we've been lucky in many games this season. Lots of lucky VAR decisions , last min goals but that's what good title winning teams do.

People will also hate , that's football
For you and how I've felt about Man Utd for the past 30+ years.

Liverpool fans know that we have blown many a great chance before but I think finally we can dream.

I agree with Roy Keane tho. (That's a first). To be one of the greatest teams of all time we would need to do this in upcoming seasons.

About the FA cup. I half agree with Klopp's point and half don't. It wouldn't really bother me that much if another team did the same.
We had the craziest schedule in December and got on with it especially with the world club final. One thing I will say, compared to City, we have a relatively small squad and have really relied on the likes of Mane, Firmino, Salah, and Van Dijk this season - any injury to them and we'd have been trouble. So Klopp knows they need a rest before tackling the CL.

Letstalkabout6 · 03/02/2020 00:37

I would definitely leave my husband for him. Loving how bitter the haters are. It's our time to shine, get used to it the ride will continue. FootballFootballFootball

DirtyDeeds · 03/02/2020 07:32

I never knew there were people who didn’t like JK?! Shock
Even the scummy MUFC supporters I know think he’s amazing

wheresmyhairytoe · 03/02/2020 07:56

I'm a lowly Hull City supporter but totally rooting for Liverpool. They are just a class act and some of their play has been a joy to watch.
Klopp is brilliant!
As for the cup, come on, they have a squad, they're going to use it. Most teams now do similar.

dontcallmelen · 03/02/2020 08:33

@DaanSaaf hello, we usually don’t meet until June😂 we are beginning too dream at chezLen as well, but after last year we won’t drink dance & sing till it’s signed sealed & delivered.

DaanSaaf · 03/02/2020 09:09

@dontcallmelen I've been waiting for you! Couldn't resist an early thread, LFC is just all I think about atm.

Oh and massive apologies to you, for years you've been 'don't call Melen' to me and your post there just made me realise my error Blush

@DirtyDeeds pure jealousy, it must be. He's the most likeable guy out there.

About the fa cup, I'll be gutted if we go out. I think we should've fielded a stronger team at Shrewsbury to get the job done but what's done is done. The players and manager need this break and I'm 100% behind Klopp.

Pedallleur · 03/02/2020 10:08

he is in a golden place that few managers get. Mourinho, Ferguson, Paisley, Shankley had it where the skill at man management and having the right team with the mindset gets results. Winning becomes infectious and it passes through the team and club. i dont follow football but admire someone like him. Like a juggler who can do some great tricks while making it look easy (ish).

dontcallmelen · 03/02/2020 10:20

Dannsaaf haha easy mistake, when I did my username I forgot to do a capital L, it’s from my one of my favourite comedy programmes Father Ted Mrs Doyle is the pure embodiment of my lovely late MiL 😂
Yy agree with the Shrewsbury match was a shame, but the PL are ejjits & need too recognise that a winter break is very important.

Jjou · 03/02/2020 11:38

No words for how much we love JK in our house. To have come so close to the league last year, and then to go again and now be 22 points clear is incredible.

He seems like a good guy too.

All this FA Cup bollocks is just bitter nonsense. Would have like to have beaten Shrewsbury 1st time, but the idea that the 1st team should sacrifice their winter break because the FA are a bunch of clowns is ridiculous. Possibly if I was Klopp I would have attended the match and gone on holiday 2 days later, but I can't get too worked up about it.

Nomorerainplease · 03/02/2020 11:43

I adore him
I support arsenal but Klopp is wonderful. I love his political views and pro EU views too. He is a genuinely nice guy
I really hope Liverpool win

burblish · 03/02/2020 12:38

I’ve supported Liverpool since before our last league title win! Absolutely love Klopp’s personality and footballing philosophy. I think what I like most about him is the genuine affection and respect he has for his players - that shines through so much. I do actually like Pep as well, but Klopp’s natural charisma is hard to top.

MrsWhites · 03/02/2020 12:52

We love Klopp in our house. My husband isn’t from Liverpool and so supports another team but even he thinks Klopp is amazing.

My little boy is Liverpool obsessed (like me), worships the ground the players walk on...he is making plans for covering our house in flags, having a Liverpool cake and a party for the deciding game (everything crossed we get there)!

The problem with the FA Cup isn’t Klopp’s doing, the timing of the competition just doesn’t sit well with a team challenging for the champions league and premiership. The agencies involved, UEFA, FA, premiership, need to get together and relook at the season/timetable for these competitions! I totally agree with Klopp that the players need a rest and this is exactly what squad players are for. That said, I do slightly agree with what Rio Ferdinand said in that it might be taking the piss a bit to not manage the game himself!

Whattheother2catsprefer · 03/02/2020 13:08

the Danny Ings love in on Saturday was just awesome
They can all get in the queue behind me - Danny is awesome. So please to see him in such fine form and would love to see him get decent run with England. His connection with Joseph Skinner and resulting disability sports project show that the tabloid image of footballers is very far from true in his case.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 03/02/2020 13:24

Dont see the issue with the FA Cup. And if they do win then itll be headlines of miracle or whatever. Not really cause they have shown they are capable before.

Do like what he has done with Liverpool..the next test is keeping it all up and going.

Definitely be a team to set records..am happy that record we set of 15 goals conceded when Chelsea won the league however wont be beaten 😄 even if the rest long gone.
