Did your school have a metal climbing frame in the gym hall? What did you call it?

In the depths of Glasgow, we had a Kelvin frame and I presumed this was a universal term... DH is claiming that it is not and Google isn't backing me up.

We just called ours a climbing frame (also west of Scotland).

I also knew it as the apparatus. Grew up in Suffolk

We did (in the late 80s) and called it the 'apparatus'. No idea whether it had an official name. I'm a teacher now and we've just got rid of ours x

The big apparatus - I remember running into it and knocking myself out too - and the the look of shock on my teachers face when I came around!

It was wooden at the two primary schools I went to, not metal, and definitely the apparatus or the wall bars.

The metal frames were the apparatus - we had varying different sizes that were set up into a great obstacle course.

We also had the climbing wall which was a ceiling height wooden climbing frame, and the ropes which we rarely used.
