How did you choose your MN name?

First of all, apologies if this is a subject that's been done to death. I haven't seen it since I've been here but I'm sure it must have been asked before.

Any road up...

I was reading "Magic Flutes" by Eva Ibbotson on the day I signed up and the opera featuring La Marschallin was mentioned in it (Der Rosenkavalier? Sorry, not sure of the spelling).

It didn't give any particular clues to my identity (apart from "La" meaning I'm probably female) and I was enjoying the book.

So, that's how I became LaMarschallin (LaMars for short).

A lot of names end in numbers, so mine was originally Smelborp99, which is 99 problems backwards. Smelborb just sounds funny.

I name changed to drop the numbers. I keep meaning to go back but that would require remembering my password.

I was exasperated that every name I picked has been used and that's what I said in response to being told I couldn't have that name for the 5th time.
