So yesterday my carer and I were discussing him getting a kindle. I have 2 working kindles and I suggested he get them both to look at the features / size / weight.

He was convinced they were identical so, to solve the issue he weighed them both.

I was right. One kindle is 3g lighter than the other.

So I seem to have a superpower of noticing when things are slightly lighter/heavier.

What power(s) do you have?

Haven't even got a cat!

You have to keep eye contact and not blink!

RB68 · 31/01/2020 12:53

I am find it girl too
Also fix it girl and sort it girl and ....sure you get that picture

I can wiggle my ears so if wearing dangly or noisy earrings they move or make a noise

I am super flexible although terribly unfit and overweight, so can still cross legs, raise straight leg to well above waist height, do deep plies easily, touch toes and do all those daft walk it up and down walls games.

I am also good at throwing things to get into bins and can tell if something is level/wonky and judge distances/measures in either cm or inches

@kalinkafoxtrot45 ...I do that too....especially in London, if I am not asked for directions at least twice a day it is a miracle.

Have been asked for directions many times in Amsterdam too!

ofgs, multiple postings...apologies! Breaking the internet appears to be a speciality too.

Smartanimal · 31/01/2020 13:51

I can change the molecular structure of any living organism just by looking at it.
I am also a very talented liar.

boatyardblues · 31/01/2020 18:44

I can taste coriander (yuk) in the most minute amounts - not really a bonus.

Urgh, me too. I can’t stand the stuff. I grew some once by accident. When I pulled it up to compost it, I could smell it on my hands for about a week despite repeated handwashing. 😞

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 31/01/2020 18:46

I can pour two evenly divided glasses of wine in one go without having to alternate or top up, even when there's only a bit left in the bottle.

Muminabun · 31/01/2020 19:55

I am extremely buoyant. I am good at staying awake for a long time thanks to pulling all nighters as a student for years 😂

thirdpassport · 31/01/2020 19:58

I’m super bendy (joint hypermobility syndrome!) Blush

Have the power to derail children's music practice. I only have to think "that's sounding great" to cause an instant and complete loss of coordination. It is still unclear whether this power extends beyond my own children though.

cheeseomelette · 31/01/2020 21:27

I have the ear thing too - I can rumble by kind of clenching the muscles.

I can speed read. It's really useful in airports and such like. I can read the signs and work out where I need to be without breaking pace.

The weirdest one - I seem to be able to turn lamp posts off temporarily when I'm angry or stressed. God knows how - I once managed 3 in a row when someone asked me to prove it and proper freaked them out. It doesn't happen often - I need to have high energy. Confused

namechangingtime · 31/01/2020 22:02

I can remember random people. Don't necessarily have had to have spoken to them, just passed them in the street and then months or sometimes years later I end up working with them or being friends with them. Can't remember an actual face though, so it isn't until I see them again I recognise them.
I can also make friends with children very easily, I was at a settling in session for my daughter at nursery and one child wouldn't leave me alone because they wanted to play and another was upset but stopped crying when I sat near them and even cracked a smile! I didn't even do anything!

PrawnSacrifice · 31/01/2020 22:07

I can normally guess the time within about 1-2 mins when I wake up in the morning without an alarm, or if I've not looked at a clock for ages.

I have an incredibly sensitive sense of smell and can detect cents long before others. For example I could smell that the radiator valve in the bathroom had begun to drip by the smell of the Fernox corrosion in the central heating water. Low and behold, a few drips on the bathroom floor under the valve, and this was from our closed bedroom door across the hall way.

I can tell whether something is parallel, square, level and equidistant to very fine margins from a good distance away. We were having an extension built and the guy was mounting the L shaped metal radiator brackets on a far bedroom wall as I walked past the bedroom door and glanced in. Not wanting to insult the guy's workmanship, I asked him whether they looked level - yes he said, disapprovingly. I said the left one looked a little low, to which he laughed. I asked him to humour me with a long straight edge and spirit level. The left one was about 1.5mm lower than the right. He just looked at me like I was possessed.

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 31/01/2020 22:17

I can do the ear thing too, I can't even remember how I discovered it! useful for occasionally blocking out DH

Used to explode lightbulbs now and then, usually when Mum and I were both there.

Can hear bats, cat deterrents, high pitched electrical noise from old TVs. Not as much as I used to tho.

Seem to make electrical appliances glitch if I'm stressed.

Also like pp, can fall into accents very easily.

None of these are remotely useful! I envy the bladder of steel and the child calming powers!

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 31/01/2020 22:21

Am however terrible with names and faces. Just draw a complete blank.

Does the ability to replay songs in my head as though I'm listening to them count?? Blush

TheMotherofAllDilemmas · 31/01/2020 22:23

I can kill kitchen appliances just by gently touching them when I’m angry. I pick up the phone before it rings and always say the word the other person was trying to say before I interrupted.
I can turn my hair white when I’m stressed.

TheMotherofAllDilemmas · 31/01/2020 22:25

Oh, and I can write with both hands in either right or left direction at a speed.

VodselForDinner · 31/01/2020 22:25

From my living room, I can smell the exact second something in my oven is cooked perfectly.

Mallowmarshmallow · 31/01/2020 22:28

Ooh, I can smell sugar in hot drinks too.

I also have really good hearing so can hear a spider walking on a wall if I'm in a dark bedroom, for example, and I can hear the cat scarer thingies and electrics and all sorts of stuff.

wanderings · 31/01/2020 22:31

I have a really vivid memory of childhood. I can remember some exact conversations word for word, things I read in books, picturing them in my head. It’s a mixed blessing - it does mean I remember the bad as well as the good, and sometimes I become very fixated on scenes I remember, and how they might have been different.

I can’t remember what I did yesterday, though...

MiniGuinness · 31/01/2020 22:50

But surely everyone call smell sugar in drinks?
