I seem to .ha.ve a super power - do you have one

So yesterday my carer and I were discussing him getting a kindle. I have 2 working kindles and I suggested he get them both to look at the features / size / weight.

He was convinced they were identical so, to solve the issue he weighed them both.

I was right. One kindle is 3g lighter than the other.

So I seem to have a superpower of noticing when things are slightly lighter/heavier.

What power(s) do you have?

if that smell link example is one you recall, it's bloody weird and creepy

@bendylikebeckham, Not creepy, just over sensitive. Every time he complained someone had just farted in the car, we asked him “which car?” Grin

TheMotherofAllDilemmas · 01/02/2020 11:50

... talking about synaesthesia... I feel pain with flavour. Sharp pain, for me, tastes also salty.

catlady3 · 01/02/2020 12:08

I can tell if something will fit into a space, like packing lots of luggage into a boot or if furniture will fit or how many bags I'll need for my shop.

derxa · 01/02/2020 12:18

Hyper sensitive to people's body language and facial expressions... I can spot a liar and a wrongun a mile off... me too

PickleMyPepper · 01/02/2020 12:28

Usually, before something big happens, I dream about it or get a feeling in my 'waters'.

Friends daughter was pregnant and I just knew, friend came up to me to tell me and before she I opened her mouth I said 'daughters pregnant isn't she?' - Friend look at me like I was a witch Grin

Happened a lot when I was younger too, I could sense when a boy was going to tell me he liked me, when I was going to come across (and annihilate) bullies, when a teacher was going to take me out of the lesson.

Another strange one, my mum was an alcoholic (sadly passed away Sad) and when I was at school, I would know if she'd started drinking again. I would get the strongest whiff of alcohol (the stale, hangover alcohol smell) whilst walking about and I just knew.

Have never been wrong.

TheDrsDocMartens · 01/02/2020 14:04

I can do the fitting things in spaces too @LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow / @cannotmakemymindup love it when blokes stop and watch me whizz into tiny spaces in our van Grin

I’m also a biting insect attractor Blush

Mammyofasuperbaby · 01/02/2020 14:15

My superpower if you want to call it that is being able to predict death of a person to the hour, so far I'm 6/6. I can however also predict pregnancy just like my Dm. I'll dream about a pregnancy and then ring my DM and She'll say the Same thing and then weeks later there will be a pregnancy announcement from said person.

Deathraystare · 01/02/2020 14:44

I can grow hairs on my chin at an amazing rate, either they will reappear after one day of intensive plucking, or, if left for two days, reach almost two cm in length.

You are not alone. I said I did not have a superpower - only idleness but yes, actually I have the hair thing too! So fucking annoying if I have naired my moustache/lady beard and then the next day fresh hairs arrive. Bastards!

Drabarni · 01/02/2020 14:52

Yep, I'm clairvoyant, clairaudient, tarot reader, synesthetic.
My gifts are being practised with family members, not been doing it long.

Marcipex · 01/02/2020 14:58

@Drabarni ooh I’d love a reading.

Drabarni · 01/02/2020 15:07

Marci

I'm Romany and wouldn't do something so personal online, only face to face.
For me it's real and I wouldn't make any old shit up, I'm just coming to terms with the fact I can learn properly.
There are a lot of charlatans out there who con people. I'd rather people think I was crap and refuse to pay than lie to them and rip them off.

I would if I could but anyone giving you a cold reading from the internet is lying. tell all your mates, seriously.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 01/02/2020 15:18

I can usually tell my phone is going to ring a few seconds before it does. I can also do the ear rumbling thing!
I recently discovered that both my DH and my eldest child can lucid dream. It's not s learned skill for them, it's something they've always been able to just do.
I'm quite jealous, I used to get terrible nightmares as a child and I had no control over them whatsoever.

everycowandagain · 01/02/2020 15:24

I can cut 100g cucumber accurately by eye Blush I am eating a LOT of cucumber at the moment so maybe it's just practice!!

Marcipex · 01/02/2020 17:03

@Drabarni
Oh well thanks for your reply.
People do give readings on here so I thought I’d ask. It’s only light-hearted x

ArthurDentsSpaceTowel · 01/02/2020 17:25

Mine are mainly word/spelling related. I can read very fast, I can spot a spelling mistake at 50 paces and weirdly, although I never progressed past toddler vocabulary in my DF's family's native language, I can sound it out on the page. It's not a mainstream language or particularly easy to pronounce so that's no mean achievement.

I'm also one of those that can parrot huge reams of poetry, play scripts and words to hymns.

PhilomenaChristmasPie · 01/02/2020 18:07

AnnaBegins I can harmonise with any music at all.

Drabarni · 01/02/2020 18:24

Marciplex

I didn't mean to sound a killjoy, I realise you meant as fun. It's just a pet hate of mine, especially when some people really do have a developing gift.

Raera · 01/02/2020 19:01

I can wiggle my ears. And so can both of my DD's

readingismycardio · 01/02/2020 19:36

@TheDrsDocMartens Finally! Honestly, we just have to be friends!Grin I've never met anyone irl
as good as me. So, where do you live?Grin

PhilomenaChristmasPie · 01/02/2020 19:39

My invisibility only seems to be on Twitter.

StealthPolarBear · 01/02/2020 19:48

I can fit a hell of a lot in my normal sized car

AwfulSomething · 01/02/2020 19:55

Me too! I have a superpower at last.

sashh · 02/02/2020 03:30

I feel pain with flavour. Sharp pain, for me, tastes also salty.

Oh mine has colours, and shape, blue spikey pain or soft pink cloud.

It’s interesting about the smell thing. I’m not in the same league as some on here, but I do regularly find myself hunting for the source of a smell that nobody else can detect.

Billyeyelash · 04/02/2020 23:02

I can turn socks from being inside out to being correct. And (hate to brag but..) I can lay them all out on the bed and pair them up. No one else in my home can do this.
