I'm past that stage of my life but I thought I'd post this for those who haven't.... apologies if this isn't news!

Ooh, that's interesting. Will be having a look at those.

user1471462428 · 27/01/2020 14:49

That’s really amazing.... has anyone tried them? I was looking at getting some but they’re so expensive . Could afford yjese

Bluewavescrashing · 27/01/2020 14:51

Interesting. I can't read the reviews though.

PointlessUsername · 27/01/2020 14:52

I had a look but still not sure of what they actually do?.

ItchySeveredFoot · 27/01/2020 14:52

I haven't tried the sainsbury's ones but I recently bought a pair of Modibodi ones and I love them. I've been using reusable pads for 2 years but the knickers are even better. Although as a pp said they're expensive so I'm buying one at a time!
I've tried to read the reviews for these sainsbury's ones but it won't load for me.

BrowncoatWaffles · 27/01/2020 14:52

I’m actually really tempted to try these!

ItchySeveredFoot · 27/01/2020 14:53

Pointless you wear them as sanitary protection. Like a pad.

PointlessUsername · 27/01/2020 14:55

Oh right, so no need for pads or Tampons.
They sound great.

Bluewavescrashing · 27/01/2020 14:55

Has anyone actually tried the Sainsbury's ones?

pandacrocs · 27/01/2020 14:57

These look amazing. Do they withstand a really heavy flow?

I can easily leak through a heavy flow tampon in a couple of hours on the first day or two. Tried the moon cup and hated it, just irritated the tone of scarring I have left from a birth injury.

pandacrocs · 27/01/2020 14:57

can you just pop them in the washing machine once you've used them, or do you need to pre-wash them?

bellinisurge · 27/01/2020 15:01

Anything that makes reusables is good in my mind. I make reusable pads for dd. She has some Modibodis and I was planning to make some period pants for her. She hates disposables and has never used them - I keep checking she likes them.

WhoWants2Know · 27/01/2020 15:02

The webpage indicates light to medium flow or bladder leakage

MorrisZapp · 27/01/2020 15:03

So you go about your business all day with blood soaked pants, or change them and carry the soiled ones home in your handbag? I don't see the appeal of this.

bellinisurge · 27/01/2020 15:04

@MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1 no idea about the Sainsburys ones but she sticks her used reusables dry in a so-called wet bag (just a zipped bag made of PUL fabric. You then cold rinse them under the tap (to get the worst of the stuff out) just before sticking in a washing machine on a normal wash with a scoop of Oxyclean added to whatever detergent you prefer. Air dry rather than tumble dry.

EstherLittle · 27/01/2020 15:05

@pandacrocs I have the modi bodi ones but I only use them at the start and end days of my period. They do make them for heavy periods but I am not brave enough to try.

Mumbassa · 27/01/2020 15:05

They look great

bellinisurge · 27/01/2020 15:06

@MorrisZapp - a mini travel wet bag and a fresh pad or two or fresh period pants if you prefer.

Buggedandconfused · 27/01/2020 15:07

They’re expensive!
I bought mine from Amazon. Much cheaper!

EmpressJewel · 27/01/2020 15:08

Thanks.

I have some waka ones, but am looking to get a couple of(cheaper) spares.

Sainsbury's tu clothing 25% off normally conincides with half term, so I will hold out until then.

bellinisurge · 27/01/2020 15:11

Try Precious Stars Pads for a budget range of reusable pads. Or makers on Etsy or Folksy for slightly fancier. Obviously slightly pricier too. I make for dd as I say and she loves them. She uses Modibodis too. I will look at these next time.

DamnItsSevenAM · 27/01/2020 15:11

I've got some for overnight leaks, but what I don't get is how people manage to use them full time unless you have a very light flow? If you're at work for 8 hours , most women will need to change them at some point, in which case you're taking off shoes and trousers etc every time to get a new pair on? Seems a bit hard work and you'd be ages in the loo.

bellinisurge · 27/01/2020 15:13

Reusable pads don't require a full clothing change.
